um....a JDM 350z? Isn't that some kind of cognitive dissonance since it's a Cali design from the US? How can a Cali domestic market car become JDM? But whatever, more power to the pretend JDM.

All I need to see next is...

stuck on the back.

Its all "made in Japan", except for the Wilwood brakes, if that what counts:

Id vote Chebostos car or BUzzardMountains car for sure.. OGd auth aeros and rare jdm parts. w silly cool wings

DIk and Flo are certainly in the running w that low key look.

But both cars are stil fairly modest.. and thats how they like it uh huh. lol.

But Cheston and Robins cars are fairly extreme, and have weird sht from RHDjapan all over em lol.

Just my votes.

I'd have to give them a different respect than Dan's, Steve's and mine. They got their parts when no one knew they existed and early on in the game... Cheston's Z is a legend (SCCA challenges... I own the magazine still lol.) in my mind and he still owns it not to mention the fact he races/raced it.

The newer generation made their names by standing out in a sea of replica's, poser's, and hard economic times. Modest isn't the word I'd use for ANY of the cars you've listed... that's almost an insult. XKR Blue? Orange Volks on a Matte gray exterior w/authentic ING's kits? Purple Volks, HKS Endless, 1st Moulding and HKS GT Supecharger kit(HKSGT85555 being built... only one outside HKSJapan HQ as of this post) w/HKS Kansai engine cover?... You consider those modest? You and Muzzy share an interest in the show car business which is 100% fine but keep in mind... we can literally drive our cars in an HPDE, AutoX, and or track day event... then drive to a show and still turn heads.

I wouldn't cast votes and compare cars... it's like comparing sports teams from different generations and debating who would win if they played each other now .

yeah.. didnt really compare, just posted votes for cars I like, and made mention of the 2 cars posted above me as more low key and certainly still deserving.
I guess if i re read my post, i can see how that could be confused.

In terms of the word Modest.. i guess a better word would have been "understated". You both know you like the cars that keep it simple lol. its like a third of ur post count.

Muzzys? Hes way over to the show car side.. mines just a fwy cruiser. Il never show it. I hate the show scene.. anywhere.. unless its old guys n hotrods.. its just crowds of ppl walking around nit picking the cars w bad remarks.. id rather BBQ at home lol.

before i bought my Z three yrs ago i looked up to Andy Kim of Performance Nissan. to me he's a JDM legend along with Cheston. truly a pioneer of authentic rare parts. https://my350z.com/forum/media-share...otography.html

A lot of the stuff on my car is on there because of Cheston.

For example, I got the OS Giken LSD based on his advice, I relied on him heavily for input on my roll bar, and I traded my 18" ce28n genesis wheels with him for my current 19" orange te37's. My car is way better though because I have Nismo floor mats.

I did the same thing, I remember reading the SCC shoot out and wanted a car just like it(I had an EG Hatch back then). I have Nismo mats too lol.

Ok that makes perfect sense and I know I shouldn't have gotten on the defensive so quickly. Yes my car is a little more understated then Dan or Steve's and I hate using mine as an example mainly because it's kinda like cheating. I got all my parts when HKSUSA closed their doors and I'm sure others would've jump on the opportunity had it happened back in 2005 or so. I'm doing a different exterior, suspension, and engine set up... the funny thing is... anyone that sees my car on the street hardly knows it's there until I past them or they're sitting behind me at a light.

I only get dirty looks from the Porsche community and so far the one's who've given me props were serious Porsche owners('97 TT 993, several 997 TT's and my personal favorite... 997 RS actually pulled behind me at a gas station to look at it). Evo's, Subies, Mustangs, Vettes, Vipers and Hell even Lambos/Ferraris break neck but never attempt to race... they just stare.

Yea your set up is on a whole different level... as is Steve's. We have to rep the East Coast... The West Coast makes us look like **** all the time.

omg my ears are bleeding, stop.

i would actually take my self OUT of the this thread.. it may look JDM, but, really, i just get stuff that i liked. Sparcos, Schroth, StopTech, Asuka, Fiberimages, KW, Personal, Cosworth, Setrab... most of that stuff is made in Europe, USA, or notJapan. yea i got some JDM stuff, but really, its about building the car you want, right?

i would say Andy's old HKS Z was true JDM if only it was RHD. sigh

dik's is cooler than my z cuz he's got fake varrdawgs
