Has anyone ever blacked out the part you left silver? (I get the feeling that is a dumb question) I think it might of looked better in your case.

I haven't seen a set yet where someone has done that. I think it's for two reasons- one, that silver plastic is opaque. The lines on the outside light up from the projector, and two, because it sets off the other silver parts of the Z nicely. I think without it the lens just sitting in there would be kind of awkward.

Looks great! I'm jealous - the 06+ lights look so much better blacked out than mine

I agree with cheshirecat79, I don't think it would look right with everything painted black. I had thought about painting them lemans sunset to match the body, but I haven't seen another with them like that and didn't want to be the guinea pig...especially if it didn't turn out too good. Thanks for the comments guys...and girls.

It's not your painting skills but the look in general that I was worried about. The color matched ones that I've seen so far I haven't been too crazy about.

im still not certain though, i would be interested to see pics of it before the new lenses to see how it changed . but covering up the wheels and looking at it made it look smoother to me

Nice "Eyes". The front end looks like a smiling face now.

Looks nice but i would love to see them color matched. The new vette looks really nice and also the honda fit with color matched lights.

Completely blacked out looks like a transformer or something.

I like it.
