but seriously, it all started with getting the wheels last fall, from there we started the motor build towards the end of '06, so basically took all of '07 to redo essentially the whole car, between the motor build, new aero kit, full repaint (which we did ourselves, at the shop....without a spray booth or an oven to bake the paint in!), the new brakes, etc.
for those who don't know what the new hood looks like, here is a pic (not the best, but shows it off). It's a C West hood that we shaved the big side vents out of, because I wanted a cleaner look. For those guys getting the drop in vents from Cheston, you know where the originals now came from :0 We carefully cut them out of my hood, and sent em to Cheston for his project! Not something I'd recommend doing if you're not really really patient...it took forever to properly fill the giant holes left from taking the vents out, but I think the end result was worth it. You can't tell in the pics, but we used the same mesh in the 2 hood vents, that we did on the bumper. There is even mesh that we cut and fitted to the small side ducts on the bumper as well, so it all matches as it should!
One more older pic from the spring of the wheel/breakes (with the old aero on)
thanks again guys for the compliments, I greatly appreciate it!
And synth, ya know, I was thinking of some sort of front diffuser also, but have yet to find one that really speaks to me (let alone that would fit on this bumper! Overall I think the Top Secret one is the cleanest, but I know it totally would not fit this bumper....maybe I'll get creative and make my own one day!
