the KW Clubsports felt great! i used the factory recommended bump settings and slightly stiffer rebound, car rotated and turned in fairly easy. very neutral. did not have any understeer at all.. and those times the back end came out, i would say was due to powering on a little too early..when i went over a few berms on the Esses, the car did not lift as much as it did with the Flexes, which i account for the independent bump setting. i'm sure if i went stiffer it would be a different story.. but i felt very much in control.. if only i could just muster up more courage to go full throttle on the banked turn! just need more practice. i ran a relatively square setup (265 front/275 rear) and the grip was amazing on the R888s.. they tend to like a little lower tire pressure. i was running -3.0 camber up front, and -1.7 in the rear.. i started cold 28 and it went up after the session was done to 35 psi.. and i lowered it back down to 31 all the way around. was using hawk DTC track pads.. they were sometimes a little touchy on the brake feel, but perhaps that was pad knock, i had to press a little harder for the brakes to engage, but they stopped me fairly decently on the main straight to left hand turn after the pits.. speedo said i was 123+mph there.. (but probably a little less due to the 35 series side profile on the rear tires..)
Great pics Cheston, looked like a lot of fun!
Didn't you originally have the KW V3's (during the USCC)? Did you or your USCC driver feel they were lacking on the track and promted the upgrade to the Clubsports?
Did the S2K guys take it in good spirit?
