Traveling Japan 2009: Osaka, Yokohama, Tokyo, Kyoto, etc
My pleasure guys. I hope more people can post threads like this when they travel abroad so that we can get a better understanding of how other cultures conduct their daily lives so that we can understand the world as a whole better.

Will do! hahaha

Will do! hahaha
Just some more random pics.
$1 sushi spot we had lunch at today. For $1, the sushi is really fresh. California rolls or just rolls/hand rolls in general are not as prominent nor popular. People stick with the typical 2 pieces of sushi and sashimi.
We ate a ton of sushi and only paid about $30 for 3 people

Japanese postal worker delivering mail:

Farmer's Market at the local supermarket on Tuesdays:

Grapes from Japan have an awesome taste:

Here is a coin that is close to the size of a penny to show how small the grapes are in comparison to US grapes:

I lol'd:

A PPW Z33:

The pastries in Japan do not allow non-carbohydrate diets lol:

The first graffiti/tagging that I witnessed:

Anybody up for riding a banana in the pool? lol:

This Udon place is awesome. All of their food down to the noodles are made fresh from scratch. We ate dinner there, but my camera ran out of batteries:

This riced out civic had "VIP" poop brown curtains. I wanted to take a pic, but couldn't catch up to him since he kept cutting in and out of traffic:

It's all about baseball here in Japan, but those in to basketball like some of our NBA stars:

Very common thing to see when a mother has two kids. One kid in the front and one in the back. I thought it was cute that the kid in the back was holding the shopping bag:

Some random business that was rundown:

Yup I've been to a few of those conveyor belt sushi places. They're like the fast food mcdonalds of japanese sushi but still better than a good amount of "nice" places here in the states.
Stop posting pics you're making me all sentimental.

Sup man! Looks like you're having a blast! Bet you'll be 10lbs heavier with all the food you're eating..... munchies?
Any idea if this translate to "baby on board"? Was wondering if you could pick me up one of these. Something for my daughter on the Z. Also, definately save me a pedo bear key cover. I'll paypal you when you get back for both. Thanks man!
Keep the pics coming, always love reading your mini blogs about your trips. Stay safe.

Yeah, the sign is equivalent to "baby in car/baby on board". I pm'd you on those.
The tradition continues even in Japan haha. Thanks for the heads up on the new Iphone coming out. I wish it came it prior to me arriving here since I wanted to get some custom artwork painted on the back of the phone. Hahha, a lot of the older gentleman or retired males tend to pick-up these traffic jobs. It is very common to see them in action in a lot of parking lots. It's nice to have when traffic levels get high. However, sometimes it is funny to see them doing it when there is no one really in the lot haha.
You could order the Iphone online and have it mailed to you in Japan or just have it sent to a relative in the US and have them mail it to you.

The 3G that I have went down $100 in price too
I'm so jealous, I've been wanting to go to japan for such a long time but feel like it would be impractical/impossible without speaking the language or really knowing what to do there. Make sure you go extra camera happy from now on so I can live vicariously through you.
Good stuff Rick bring us more pictures and get me one of those NO F-in signs and the baby signs............Let me know how much I owe you. When I get to travel later this year to Korea and Vietnam I'll post pictures myself. Have fun with the new family my friend and have a safe trip home also.
