Default Talk about sweeeeett!!!

I'd like you to know sir that the one pic of your Z all cleaned up and parked in front of your home is now my desktop/wallpaper pic. I have a Yamaha YZF R1 motor cycle that is the same color and oh how I wish that I'd chosen to purchase Daytona Blue now. I also wish that I'd chosen the Track pkg instead of Touring. Seems as though I made a couple of mistakes that will bother me for a while... I'm actually thinking about putting my Z up for sale as soon as I get it just to ensure that I get the one that I truly want (Track...Daytona Blue). I could use the extra cash from the sale for a kickass audio system upgrade....

Thanks for the pics dude. That pic just made up my mind for me. Remember.... You were the one who changed my mind or should I say "made me see the (blue) error of my ways.

The pic below is my bike R1....

Hey gmoneyr1!

Nice ride. A friend of mine has one of those and I have to say, as soon as I get my Z it's the next purchase to make. Unfortunately he took a tumble in spokane at aroudn 120Kph but he's ok and it's one of the sturdiest bikes I've seen, considering. Both him and his bike are in great shape now and prowling the tracks again. Take care and keep the right hand cranked!

Thanks dude,

I really love the bike. I think I'll have it for a long time. I know there are other nice bikes coming out but I really do thing the R1 is in a league of its own. I love the color as well as the performance of this bike. My best friend has one just like mine. I've had high speed wrecks like that as well and I've been very lucky. I don't push my luck as much anymore. Unless, or course, I can see a long (2 mile) straight....... Then 172 mph here I come...lol Take care up there and tell your buddy that I said keep those wheels on the asphalt.

Guess you haven't ridden many other bikes, have you? The R1 is great (I had an '00 model), but it doesn't have the clear superiority that it did when it was introduced in '98.

As far as the type of riding that I do my bike is all that I need. Believe me, I've lots of wild and crazy things on bikes but I now choose to live to ride again...

Now I've been out there on a Hyabusa (got it up to 180 mph) but how often do you really want to go 200 mph? And where? So, as for my needs... The R1 is it....... I don't care if they make a bike that can go 300 mph, I don't want any parts of it. My bike is low maintenance and plenty fast enough of me. I've top'd my bike out at 172 mph twice and that's as fast as I ever need to go.

Sorry dude, didn't mean to set your defense mechanism in action!!!

I wasn't even referring to the Hayabusa, since I don't like them. I rode a friend's, and couldn't wait to get back on the R6 I owned at the time.

What I really meant is that there are lots of great, very competitive alternatives (954, GSXR1000, RC51, Mille, etc.) that didn't exist when the R1 was revolutionary in '98.

You're right, though, the R1 is a great bike...wish I still had mine around for wheelies if nothing else!

No problem man....... I wasn't upset. I just like the bike that I have and I know it's everything that I need. I did get to ride a R6 so I'm sure you miss that bike.
