I'm glad you opted for hood pins with your CF hood. It makes me uneasy just looking at a CF hood without the pins, let alone driving one like that. I don't know how people do it.

I drove with my CF hood with no pins for about a week after I got it waiting for the pins to come in. Most terrifying thing ever! Crazy amounts of hood shake/wobble/bounce at 75mph

I did the same... I was like avoiding the highway and tried to stay under 35... Mine bounces around a lot, and my secondary catch pretty much insta broke...

Went to the fancy dud shop and got some new slippers.

I've had an aftermarket hood on my car for my full 2.5 years of ownership and the previous owner had it on for 2 years as well. It does shake at highway speeds, however seems to be reliable if almost 5 years of driving didn't force it to throw in the towel. I still do plan on getting aerocatch latches to give me peace of mind, but I'm not in a rush

Im sure mine probably would have been fine. I just dont want to risk it not being fine... Ive driven cars with hoods up... I would rather have the piece of mind... That and I love me some rice.

I heard too many horror stories and it got me paranoid. I made one trip without the pins installed and I was sweating bullets thinking about it.

It deff gives u a piece of mind when cruising at highway or whatever you may enjoy at high speeds. I had it happen to me once where the hood flew open, and I hope none would ever have to go thru that. Hood pins= a must imho

Even with hood pins I still get a crazy amount of hood bounce near the windshield, but having the pins is a peace of mind. The hood can bounce all it wants, unless it snaps in half, its not going to be flying up
