Met an interesting gentleman yesterday that was into bagged trucks and he was heavily trying to convoke me to cut up the engine bay and notch all kinds of things so that I can 'lay frame'.

I stood my ground and told him I have no desire for that

Note the haziness in each pic. That there is smoke from the Monterey County area fire, some 75 miles South of here.

As I got 'er home, it started making a mild and cyclic thump thump thump noise. I suspect a front wheel bearing or something similar as it's in cadence with car speed, thankfully not engine speed. Perfect timing as I planned to tear down the front end in a week or so for general service.

Still won't push this one anywhere near where my Z33 runs but it holds its own up in the hills.

Thanks, gents, it is truly a fun car. I'll admit that it's not as fun as my Z33(s) or Z34 but for what it is, a period correct "oddity" (I won't go so far as to call it a "rarity" despite only a thousand of them made), it does bring a smile to my face when I drive it.

In truth, never thought that much of the Z31 platform but have grown to really like the way it looks and drives with it's minimally assisted steering and the vintage feel of the row boat oar length shifter.

Best feature I admit is the T-Top, giving me the ability to drive with the wind in what's left of my hair. Laff....
