I ran into electrical issues in turn 198. I was cooking it around a hard right when I lost all electrical - ignition, power brakes, power steering, etc… - had to keep her on the mountain using the e-brake and some improvised drifting, but never crossed the yellow. I'm sure that this one biker had to clean his shorts when he saw me sliding sideways with my fronts off the apron and my rear end close to coming around.

I think that my IPDM on the positive battery post failed. Osiris could no longer communicate with the ECU at all, but could still see the BDM and ABS computers, so at first I was thinking that I had blown the ECU. I haven't had a chance to dig into it and just had the car trailered back to CIN Motorsports in Charlotte, NC for now. If it isn't the IPDM, it's electrical and is going to take some serious time with the schematics and a multimeter, because I spent some time troubleshooting while still at ZDayz and ruled a lot out.

Crazy you lost all the electrical while on that road. Good to here you did not get the car or yourself hurt.

Suspension:
Stance GR+ True Coilovers
Kinetix Front A Arms
Kinetix Rear Camber Arms
Kinetix Rear Traction/Radius Arms
SPL Rear Toe (bucket delete) Arms
EVO Front Sway
Hotchkis Rear Sway
SPL Front & Rear Endlinks

Wheels:
Enkei 18x9.5+15 Front
Enkei 18x10.5 +15 Rear

Current Tires:
The tires in the picture are a bit stretched, because that is what came on the wheels when I bought them.
255/35/18 Front
275/35/18 Rear

Planned Tires:
I've always run Hankook for the price/performance ratio, so I'll probably run either the V12 or RS3 when I swap rubber.
Hankook Ventus V12 275/35ZR18 -or- Hankook RS3 265/35ZR18
Hankook Ventus V12 295/35ZR18 -or- Hankook RS3 285/35ZR18

Aw, it just gives me something else to play with. No biggie.

If it ends up being something that's a pain, maybe I'll just start the LS swap earlier than planned.

I had this issue before. There is a harness below the battery that runs off the positive terminal. The large clip was not fully seated in and was making and losing contact giving me weird throttle delays, all lights on the dash illuminated and eventually shutting the car down.

I hope it's an easy fix for you!

CEL, VDC and slip lights were on. No power to windows, oil gauge, temp gauge. Starter would try to turn over engine, buy no ignition/start. Couldn't hear fuel pump start up with switch either. Couldn't swap maps with buttons on steering wheel.

With osiris and cipher, they couldn't see the ECU, but did see the abs and bdm. So I initially thought I had fried the ecu and/or bdm.

we removed my ecu and plugged it up in bryan settle's car and then we could communicate with the ECU using my uprev cable. so that helped a bit with the troubleshooting.

I'm pretty busy and haven't even checked in with CIN Motorsports on the car yet, but I was leaning towards an IPDM issue after we checked the simple stuff with a test light. I didn't have schematics or a multimeter at ZDayz, so I stopped ast that point.

Yes. It depends on whether the Enkei's are going to be dedicated track or if I plan to drive them some on the street.

V12 is a 280
RS3 is a 140

completely different purposes/uses.

I haven't tried a set of RS-3's yet, but I drove from the bottom of Florida to ZdayZ and back, on my star specs, after doing two events and I'm hoping for ~3-4 more events.

I hear the RS-3's are a little stickier though so they may not last as long.

That's a nice wheel/tire combo! I think I'm about to get a set of wheels in the same size/offset.

Well, it looks like it was something that I had done (imagine that).

My strut bar was pressing part of the harness against the engine, and there was a machined edge that cut through the harness in that spot. Cut harness = bad

So I only have myself to blame for not being more careful about the harness routing and strut bar location. I should have extended the harness or rerouted it to make sure that it couldn't get into that situation.

Oh well, you live and you learn. Hopefully it's just the cut harness and nothing else got fried as a result. If so, she should be back on the road this weekend!
