I always get so mad when I see this They seemed to have even taken the time to make sure the entire car has to get repainted.
Someone egged my Z about 9 years ago. It still has the marks from it

Fuggin hate seeing crap like this... My superblack 04 used to get egged every few months and needless to say the entire car needs a paint job... At the end of the day it's not how it gets fixed or yada yada yada it's the anxiety that follows thinking when and if it will happen again. Viper on delicate setting can be annoying but will be ur friend. Knocks on wood!

thanks guys. me and a friend hid in his car two nights in a row to find anyone but no luck. two other cars were keyed at this complex so at least it wasn't targeted just to me. rent here is too much for things like this. too nice of an area.
the thing is, i do have full coverage. the insurance adjuster already looked at it. total damage was 2400 , deductible was 500 so 1900 check. they dont cover aftermarket paint jobs so only gave me price for two stage paint when mine is 3 stage. so i went to my body shop and it will cost closer to 4500 to repair all of it just to make it look like it did before. that means 2500 out of my pocket..well, more like 3k out of my pocket. so thinking just to sell my Z. this seriously killed any motivation for this car

Yup.
I see what you mean though Andrew. Money aside, it's just downright discouraging. Just makes you feel like it's broken. Something to keep in mind though, mostly because everyone here wants you to stick around, is that you could get a new car and the same thing could happen. I know you would have to lay out some major cash to get back an equivalent paint job, and that sucks, but considering the somewhat normal occurrence of this type of thing in your area I wouldn't put any additional money into paint, or trading in for something else nice.
But the problem is, then you're just rolling over and taking it. I can definitely see that it may not be worth having the car at all if you can't have it your way. It's a tough spot to be in, I'm sure. We just hope you stick around.
