Just got my first SLR cam (nikon d3100). Still learning, so bare with me. Tips plz?

Im not a huge fan of over post processing so i like the last photo best. Rule of thirds for composition. Just my opinion.

I hate over cooked HDR images so I'm biased.

As for composition tips - always be aware of your surroundings. You don't have very interesting backgrounds and when you have the tree it looks like it's growing out of the car. Another picture has a building off to the right. Just keep an eye on what's beyond your subject, it makes a huge difference.

 

Last pic is decent, others scream noob.

 

I'll bear with you, but you'll have to bare with someone else.

I like the third picture best, but I would have moved the tree to the right of the frame.
