OY! For those wanting to know my story, here it is:

I don't believe I made a "new owner" post when I joined in March of 2010. This is because I have only been borrowing my car from the bank (effn car payments). When I set my mind on owning a Z, I still owned my 04 RX8, and was hell bent on selling that for some VQ powah. I test drove a silver 05 in 2008 and loved the car. However, I couldn't afford 2 cars at the time. So, back to dream world. 2 years later I get the itch(not that kind) and start looking at 350s again, and fall in love with a PPW 08 enthusiast and go test drive it. LOVE. L. O. V. E. the car, but now DON'T want to pay for 2 cars. So I leave my number at the dealer and hope the RX8 sells in time to get the Z. Dealer calls next day-It's sold. Week goes by, autotrader shows another PPW HR, I call the owner-sold 30 minutes prior to my call.

2 weeks later I find a private seller 08 PPW with under 8,000 miles. I call him, and set up a meet. Super clean Base model with all the dealer papers, even dealer installed JWT pop chargers papers. I tell him I want it, but have the RX8 still. He said he would hold for 3 days(end of weekend). Monday he calls me and said a guy was looking at it that afternoon. NOT this time I said. I went to the bank and asked for a loan (60 month term to be safe) until the RX8 sold and I get approved. Call the guy, we meet up again for another test drive, and I'm sold. Give him the check (I'll add everything into total cost of car) for $23,829 registered, new plates, tax, title xfer all the usual bs. I am ecstatic with my purchase, so excited I don't realize the floormats are missing!!! But dude was super cool and got some for me from the dealer the next day.

~super boring part-Instead of the RX8 selling, I help my mom and give it to her to drive since blahblahblah family money crap....I drive the 8 from SD CA to Miami FL and leave it with her. Now I'm stuck with the 350Z car loan. No worries, love the car make the payments. Mechanical issues with the 8 cause money to be tight, and eventually leads to me taking a huge hit selling after fixing the issues. Plus during this time I got a girlfriend, plus the mod bug HARD, both of which are expensive

Fast forward to (going to be official) January 14th, 2013. I transfer $445.61 from my checking to the car note. On the 14th, my regularly scheduled payment of $300/2weeks will be applied to the Z loan. This will put the balance at $0.00

Could. Not. Be. Happier. (unless everything worked out in the 1st place and no car loan needed )

Now I know I could have paid the Z off in a year or so had I been "bought not built" but I never overextended myself with mods and it's what I love and wanted to do.

Haters: I'm no newb, to the car game(my car, my mods), or to "built not bought" so don't look down at your nose at me for modding my car while I didn't own it.


ADHD people and TL;DR people: didn't own a Z, now I do, after 2 years and 10 months.

Just to critique something I don't like tail lights. Everything else I like. Any vids of exhaust?

 

You have too many nice parts on there to have a NRG steering wheel. Nice progress and congrats on paying it off.

Not everyone digs JDM tails...Or smoked tails... I like the JDM tails on white cars....MAYBE silver cars... thanks for your thoughts.

I HAD an NRG wheel about 2 years ago. Along with my powdercoated stock wheels. I liked it, but soon grew up from it and got a Momo. But, money got tight and I sold it. Back to stock wheel now until I find another I like a lot. Thanks for congrats.

Exhaust is loud, but not that loud. I have JWT Pop chargers and GReddy EVO II cat back with the resonators cut out. I want test pipes/HFC, but haven't ballsed up to them yet. I don't want ANYthing to tweak it and me not like it.

I like tinted tails.....mine were too dark imo (fly flew into the Niteshades paint and had to sand and add more layers) but like I said about the NRG wheel, I grew out of it. I just like change.

Your situation reminds me well during my first 2-3 yrs "owning" my Z... Ah, yes it did feel good! I'm more of a PS3 guy so it's a Platinum achievement unlocked right there. **** yea!

I already have a pretty extensive imaginary twin turbo build list in progress. My imaginary set up should make around 500-650rwhp.

No, no plans for FI. Pay off doggie emergency surgury vet bills now and still need a "beater daily"

2. White Nismo Ball
3. White Delrin "*****"-(one of my favorites, ((because of leverage shifting, not cuz ***** factor))
4. Momentum Performance
5. Tommy Kaira Hebi Bebi
6. Garage Defend Ball with 3" extender
7. See number 5.

I wish I had kept all of them except stock and Nismo ball. I would switch out every other week. If you are looking for shift *****, contact me, I've put them through the ringer.

But the TK is the most elegant, let's say. I'm more attached to the idea of it rather than teh smooth shifts......It's great don't get me wrong, but I like the exclusivity
