*This is just my opinion.* I think that if you put a body kit on the Z, then you should also upgrade the suspension and use 19" wheels--18s look nice, but only on a stock-body car.

If you don't want to share your knowledge/experience with modding your Z then please don't even bother posting. This is a forum for Z enthusiasts who wish to share their knowledge with other Z owners not a forum for ego gratification.

Default OK, Here is the secret!

Well I guess I have teased long enough. I wanted to get PM'd so I can hear those that posted their own ideas as to how I accomplished this (and flawlessly I must say) It is so simple and child proof you wont believe it.

This is what you need:
A can of gumout (carburetor cleaner)
A clean rag
A detail brush
Silicone adhesive sealant (or you can use 3m tape, I find the silicone so much easier and better)
Polish and Wax

Here is what happened,
I got my car home from getting painted and was going over it when I came across some clear coat overspray on my front wheels. I tried everything from Goof off to light compound to polish with no results so next up was a can of gumout. I have used it before to clean off paint and overspray it is work very good, you just need to be sure to WAX RIGHT AFTERWARDS! It will not destroy the paint if you wipe it off right away.

So I must have mis-sprayed at some point and got the fender and side emblem. I wiped it off the fender and it did no damage at all, but when I wiped the badge.......****! the paint started to wipe off! After about 15 seconds (that's all it took for the light bulb to pop up in my head) I thought that this would look real sweet if the paint came off cleanly. So I removed the badge and sprayed it with more gumout, all the paint came off with no effort at all! I used a detail brush to get in all the cracks, wiped it clean and let it dry ( a few seconds, it will evaporate real fast after it is wiped up) Polished it, (it didn't even need it but I thought it would not hurt to do it) and then waxed it.. Done!

The plastic is 100% unharmed, no scratches, fading, melting, warping, natta.

This is guaranteed 100% childproof, you can't mess it up and let me tell you the badges on my car in the pictures do them no justice. They have a polished nickel kind off look, very very classy.

I did the 2 sides and my front Z and it took all of about 20 minutes!

Well enjoy! hope you all are happy now. But DON"T FORGET WHERE YOU HEARD THIS FROM!!

And ZCOOL, dude chill out! Don't have a fit or its off to time out for you.

My paint isn't coming off, so it may be childproof, but it aint adult proof.

How long did you leave gum out on.

I tried 5 seconds, 1 minute and now 5 minutes.

Thanks

Spray the gumout on a rag, immediately wipe on the black area. It should start coming off .

Dude I think I got superhuman paint, I am scrubbing like a motha, and NADA.

Let me try a diff rag.

The different rag was the trick, I was using a "girlie man" rag.

As Arnold would say.

The rag was just too smooth causing no friction.

THANKS MUCH, THEY LOOK SWEET.
