this is an event on another day...5th as opposed to 22nd... so i don't believe you are within "thread hijacking perimeters"... just being informative at this point...

THAT is THE example of thread jacking. Thread jacking doesn't always mean you mention something that goes on the same date. It refers to being off-topic, especially promoting your own event in a thread that's for a different event.

Such is the case here. This thread is about a meet that is held this Saturday and posting a link/info that refers to some other event (though, it's on a different date) is the prime example of hi-jacking.

Also, saying that you "don't want to be accused of hijacking [a] thread" doesn't show much maturity nor intelligence. For one, what you imply with that statement is childish. Secondly, you WERE and STILL ARE hijacking the thread.

I have nothing against you, but you just gotta realize some things and learn to respect other people, their posts, threads and their events.

Default Ask me if I care

Call it what ever you want. I really don't care what you think at this point.

This event is for you guys and all you want to do is complain about
the fact that I mention it on the one thread where I know everyone
who attends our meets will be looking.

I think you could just take it for what it is and stop trying to put
your own spin on it.

The event is for you and charity. I only benefit in knowing that
my fellow Z enthusiast have an opportunity to come to a great,
free event and possibly take home some great raffle items or
a trophy.

So call it hijacking or whatever, I don't really care if you like the
fact that I mentioned it on this thread or not. In my opinion I
would be an idiot not to mention here.

But if you feel like bashing me for doing this is in your best interest
then go right ahead and more power to you.

Oh Yeah, and by the way Your Welcome for setting up what will
probably be one of the best events of the summer for the Z
enthusiast.

I'm confident that most folks would rather attend a cool event
regardless of how they heard about it.

Mike, after reading my post in they dyno day thread you still did it again (right here). I don't think you grasp the concept of what you're doing over and over.

I (or should I say we) appreciate the work going into the show, but you already have a thread for it created...so the work is already done.

But now we have two threads that are off topic because of this type of stuff (instead of one). Do you see what I'm getting at?

For every action, there is a reaction. So this is just how we're reacting to your actions in the forums. Don't make us start thread hijacking your posts as well.

You know what I did to try and get a few more people to come to our meet this Saturday? I sent them PM's.

Anyone interested in coming back over to my house after the meet is welcomed. We'll be drinking beer, watching movies, playing some PS2 and talking cars. I plan on it being a late night.

I have to go to a family dinner between 5:30 and 6:30pm though, but I'll regroup with you guys after that.

I'm not sure if I can make it to the meet this Saturday.. My rear tire blew on the highway last night. The inner side of the tire is all shredded, outer side has a huge hole, and the tread part has a 3 inch nail embedded in it. I had like 40% tread left on it too..

Hopefully, I can get a hold of two 275s today.

Don't know what the f*ck happened.. I was on the highway and I hear weird noises so I pull over and see my tire f*cked up.

Actually, I found 2 tires.. I might be able to make it..

Damn Chris! Glad you made it through the blowout ok! Those can go either way ya know.

Certainly one of the local Discount Tires will have the size you need. It's Dallas, after all. Gotta be something out there for ya! Hope you can make it bro!

Come on man. You knew what you were doing when you made the first post. Then someone points out what you already knew, and then you flame them and throw a big tantrum?

He didn't put a spin on it. There is only one perspective here that represents truth...The attention from one thread about your event isn't enough. You believe your events are more important than ours. So you use our discussions to promote your own needs. And then you get upset when people react to your unexpected and rude behavior. And then, the icing, is that you expect all of us to appreciate you for it.

Gimme a break... Did any of us ask you to set this up? How many people on this thread were even aware of this other event? Exactly... So why should we be thanking you?

Besides...

This is what it's really about, isn't it??

Anyway, Thanks so much for setting up that charity event!! ...

Now please stop hijacking our threads to promote your own events.

Thanks,
-Smoky

Yeah, I contacted Discount Tire Co. and told them to send a courier to retrieve two 275 tires from their warehouse. I got Nittos this time. I'll be going to the track tonight to test them out too. I guess I'll make the meet after all. HELL YEAH! Get to hang out with the cool people!
