Good luck and have fun! You should come up to DFW sometime and race with me.. and others if they go also. And you never did come to our meet. Race and be sure to post up your time slips. I'll try to help you improve your times.

I can give you some pointers if you'd like..
-Remember to turn your VDC off. Trust me, it's not pretty with it on.
-Feather your clutch when you launch.
-Do a couple of test runs to see where you need to launch and how you need to launch.
-Make sure your tires can grip the track so do a burn out. (also to get the crap off the tires)
-Shift fast
-Have fun.

http://www.lonestarmotorsportspark.c...park/index.php

It's in Sealy, TX.

This is my first time to race... period! I'm thinking I may just test & tune tonight so I don't make an @ss of myself as a first timer.

Tonight it is 1/8 mile racing though.... 1/4 and 1/8 mile test and tune.

They just recently converted to a 1/4 mile track. They have a dirt track there as well...

so you DIDN'T race? or test-n-tune...

that sucks you would have had much more fun running your car *** opposed to sitting around gaining a few extra pounds drinking...

Chris... what's with the feathering the clutch?

the fist time i was at the track i really didn't feather my launches just revved up to my launch RPM and go... i didn't "drop" my clutch but i get off it kind of quick... i launched there basically the same way i do in the streets, granted you stick better to the track but i felt that if i hit the right RPMs the car didn't bog down or stall... but had a nice strong launch andd landed in a nice place of powerband to accel y'know?

next time we go i think i will be racing most of the day... but we shall see...

Next time we go to the track, I'll tell you. But basically, you're just NOT dumping the clutch, but letting it out slowly (not too slowly though). So, just feeling your clutch out.

i kind of understand what you're talking about... to kind of sumarize what i'm doing is... after fully staged... bring the clutch up to jest before engagement... when the last yellow lights up rev up, when green turns on release clutch... for me it works like a charm... but i don't know how stressful that is on my drivetrain...

You should go on the last yellow light. By the time you roll out, it will be green and you will have a WAY better reaction time.
