For anyone from the Houston area that would like to caravan out there with us...

The caravan leaving Houston for San Antonio will be leaving from Peach Creek Park, located on the left hand side of I-10, heading West out of town. There will be a couple of signs, giving you plenty of notice about it. It’s actually pretty far out of town, but will be a good meeting point, with less “in town” congestion…very easy ingress and egress.
It is located out past Katy and Brookshire, but before Sealy.

We will be pulling out from Peach Creek Park on FRIDAY, APRIL 11TH…AT 3PM.
Our one and only PLANNED stop is about mid-way at the Weimer Exit, which has a Shell and a Chevron Service Station, along with a Subway/Texas Burger, for a snack or a drink. We plan to be here just long enough for what racer’s call a “splash-n-go” (drink AND potty-wise)…then on to San Antone !
We’re planning on having dinner that evening with our hosts, around 8pm at Mamacita’s Mexican Restaurant, close to the host hotel.
When you pre-register, be sure to check that box, that you’ll be eating with us.

Several of us (smarter ones) have made reservations at La Quinta, the host hotel. Unfortunately, I was not one of them . I called them today and they are no longer offering the Z Sport Special ($99).

I forgot that the Final Four NCAA Playoffs are that weekend
I guess if I was college age, or had a kid in college, I would find this exciting.
Unfortunately for me, I just find it annoying.
I finally found a room at the Candlewood Inn, close to the event.
Most of us are planning on staying Fri. & Sat. Nights and caravanning back Sunday Morning.

Anyone that would like to join us, is welcome.

So far, I’ve heard from 6 cars planning on caravaning with us.
Looking forward to hitting the road and heading West with everyone and partying with our buds in San Antonio!

Yea I forgot the Final Four was that weekend and this weekend as well. Might cause some traffic issues in town.

 

Actually Final Four is this weekend only. Car Show weekend is clear and then Fiesta begins on the weekend of the 19th.
