A few things to point out..
Yeah, the website could be a bit more organized. We have a very 'zealous' webmaster that likes to do things his way. To him, it's perfect. To the rest of us... well... it could be easier.
Helmets--- that's been covered above. MSR has very nice helmets for rent.. better than my track helmet, and they keep them clean.
TRACK RULES....
It's been brought to my attention that a few people are concerned about overly aggressive driving by others on the track.
The organizers of this event have been participating in track events for 20+ years and WILL NOT TOLERATE over-aggressive idiots on track. Several of us are licensed racers, and all of the instructors and corner workers will be supplied by the track- so you can be assured we have skilled help at the event.
We all want to be able to drive our cars home and don't want some other shmuck wrecking out pride and joy.
There will be passing ONLY on the straights and ONLY with a point-by. If we hear of anything to the contrary of that, we will immediately black-flag the offender and bring them in for a talk. If they're not letting people pass, the first stop will be a warning. If people are passing without a point, the first course of action will be sitting out the rest of the session. If they're simply being too aggressive or driving like an idiot, they will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. But like I said, WE WILL NOT TOLERATE BAD DRIVING.
We will do our best to classify drivers based on experience and expected speed on track, and I have no problems moving someone up or down a run group or two as needed to keep similar drivers on the track at the same time. If they're going too slow, then I've got no problem stomping on someone's dignity and moving them down a run group.

usually only in the most advanced groups... green and blue USUALLY can run w/o a roll bar.
btw, I sent the money today!
all my new radiators are going to be late for TWS this WE but I should be on time for MSR!
*edit* Robert, do you know which layout and which direction we are going to run?

This is from MotorSport Ranch Info. Last I heard it is required at all tracks for all groups.
Convertible Rules '09
All Convertibles are required to have either OEM/Factory Roll Protection or
approved aftermarket roll protection that is higher than the driver's helmet
while seated in a normal seating position.
A simple Height Test involves taking a broom stick and level attached to
the broom stick and laying the broom stick on top of the vehicle's "Roll
Over Protection" while level and seeing that you are below the broom stick
while in a normal driving position with your helmet on.
Details on Roll Over Protection:
Double and Single Roll Hoops, Pop-Up Roll Bars, Factory Hard Tops, and "A"
Pillar Roll Over Protection are all approved as long as it is "factory
documented roll over protection" and are above the height requirements.
(driver's helmet)
* It is the driver's responsibility to provide this proof.
Aftermarket roll bars are required to be able to at a minimum sustain the
vehicles weight and are above the height requirements. (driver's helmet) *
It is the driver's responsibility to provide this proof.
Notes:
"A" Pillar is the front windshield frame. Cars that are know to have factory
"A pillar" (front windshield frame) roll over protection: Corvette C6, BMW
Z3 & Z4, and Honda S2000 there may be more look at manufacture information
to see.
SCCA & NASA approved roll bars are all acceptable.
Height Test may be re-checked at the track and if you and your car DO NOT
pass this test you will forfeit your registration fee and not be able to run
the event.

As far as the track layout.. I beleive it will be the full 2+ mile course in a clock-wise direction.

Here’s the last email from Troy (da Prez)…
I talked to Leslie about convertibles and she basically said no convertibles without some kind of roll over protection. TWS recently went to that policy which I think happened after a S2000 in an beginner group did some acrobatics with an instructor on board.
I don't know if there is any leeway with the insurance but I'll try and find out.

that day even the S2K in yellow had only the stock rollover protection (I guess that's ok) but they were running top up.
