Default Feeler: Time Trial at Mineral Wells in July?

Hey so I've noticed there has been a pretty good group of 350z guys that have been coming to autox events together. If you guys are interested we can do a 350z time trial event in july!

This would be a time trial not an autocross. Think of it like a timed road course event except on a super-massive parking lot. Speeds will be higher and the course is faster and open than any autocross. You do 4 flying hot laps each time you go out instead of stopping after each run. Typically drivers get at least 20-25 laps and the record is 50 in a single day! The cost would be around $40 for which gets you TONS of seat time with ZERO standing around ******** cones!!!

One other thing we do differently is run separate morning and afternoon sessions. If you sign up for the morning you show up early and can head home at 1pm. Or if you decide on the afternoon you can wake up late get there at noon and go home around 5-6pm. Either way if you want you can stick around in the other session to watch or ride along!

To get this going I would need at least 8 people willing to sign up. The maximum would be 16. Let me know if you guys are interested! The dates I'm looking into would be: July 3rd, 10th, or 24th

If you want to check out pics and videos from our events head to:

David,
You know I would be all over this!

Hey Guys - If you liked the event you ran at mineral wells last month with the BMW club, you will probably like this even better. The track will not be tight but like a road course, a little faster than the BMW course or close. Unlike an typical autoX you will actually get to use the horsepower in your car on the long straits. The best part about this event is that you get to run consecutive laps back to back so you can really work on your skills. If you want to try a different line you can just do it on the next lap instead of waiting for your next group to run like an AutoX. Another great thing is that David limits the amount of cars for the session so there is very little wait time between your runs. Just think its like track time without the concern about having an off track excersion (unless you just really blow it and run off the mineral wells huge pad). The event is super laid back, no car classing, no car numbers, just raw times. Generally I will run a few sessions then talk to a few folks or catch a ride as a passenger to see how someone else is taking the line. Then I run some more. And of course the best thing is you do not have to work the course. If you are not running you can just hang out under the canopy which is a great thing since it is so hot this time of year.

I am in if any of you would like to have a 350Z only day. If you want to check it out he is having some general events on the 12th and 20th (not 350Z specific). I am signed up for the morning session on the 12th.

FYI, that my car in the picture from a previous event, bone stock except the G35 wheels and star spec tires.

I'm definitely in, if it's not the 24th of July.

I'd love to go, but I don't have a trailer and if I break the car I don't have anywhere up there to fix it....

Otherwise I'd be in on both run groups.

Most of us drive to/from the track all the time. I doubt you'll break anything.

I have 109K+ miles on my Z with 5 years of drag race abuse (with/without 100 whp shot of nitrous) and I'm now getting into autoX (been to a few events). You'll be fine.

^^

The last event I went to I tore a seal in both front calipers and lost all braking pressure to the front tires, and had to pump them repeatedly to get pressure on the rears....

I'm also having a problem with my fans not wanting to run...and I don't know where to begin with them.

I might be able to pull it off....but....

That was from my friend forgetting to tighten the slave cylinder bolts.

I think 3rd is too short of a notice and I most likely will have moved out of TX by the 24th, so I say 10th.

"best state?"

If the event is on the 10th and the flight is on the 11th, that sounds perfect!

I'll be attending grad school elsewhere away from this stupid heat.

Haha, I'm just pulling your chain.

I guess he lost interest since this thread received very little attention in the beginning.
