Default Go to Summit Point with Ferrari of Washington!

Hey guys,
Mike and I both received an invitation to go out with Ferrari of Washington to Summit Point the weekend of April 30th/May 1st to race on the new track, The Shenandoah. The invitation is open to any other drivers that want to attend, and spectators are always welcome. The pre-requisites for racing are that you wear a helmet and you provide proof that you've had your brake system flushed in the last 6 months. I'll find out how to register tomorrow and post it up here.

I don't know that I'll race, but I would like to go out and spectate. Anyone else interested in going out?

DAMMIT! I hate final exams. I still may go for one day and race if that is possible.

I'll only be able to make it that Saturday.. I'll prolly put my baby out on the track again.. if the've finished the grading You'll note the lack of helmet since these were taken during "happy laps" .. were you just familarize yourself with the track. Sorry for the HUGE size..

Ok....here's the deal on this event:

If you want to register to drive at the event, goto http://www.fwash.com/news/new-trwelc.html and follow the link for "Application (online)"

If you are interested in just going out to watch and enjoy the day and eat lunch with the Ferrari folks, fill out the same application, but leave all of the car/driver information blank, just fill out the part for "guest". It's $25 to for lunch. The gent I spoke with at Ferrari believes that the club-house will be open at the track and will be selling food as well if you want to go that route.

If you are interested in racing and need any more information about car prep, etc., you can call Redding Finney at 703.478.3606.

I may come out on Saturday to spectate. I don't own a helmet, nor have I flushed the brake system (maybe after TOD I will need to).

Hey Jess,
That's kind of what I was thinking as well. Won't be racing, but I'd love to go out and watch these guys mix it up on this brand new track. I'm sure they'll have all of the folks they need, but I'd volunteer for corner worker or other job, too if they needed me.

Mike, are you racing? If so, when are you headed out. Maybe we can make it a group drive to Summit!

I've never been to a track event before, so this will be a great way to get a feel of how everything operates. I'd like to get my car on the track sometime in the future. Hopefully I'll pick up a few tips and learn the basics. Besides, Mike will need some Z supporters on a track full of Ferraris and Maseratis.

Application deadline is today guys, so if you plan on racing fill out that application right now. Kelly, are you shelling out the $25 for lunch? Can we just show up to the track without registering with FMoW?

Yep, I didn't realize that the deadline was yesterday, but the registrations is only required for racing or eating lunch. The track is open to all spectators who want to come. We can just eat at the club-house or whatever it's called.

Hahhahahaha,...

I'll be there.. but I dont think that I'll be running this time either. I mostly want to see some expensive cars go fast

I dont think that they have finished the grading on the track.. so it is still a little treacherous. The new course is VERY green. This will be a great course once its finished though. I think we'll have a blast just hanging out with these guys.. there all pretty laid back,... they just have bigger budgets than us

Are you interested in meeting up to head out there, or are you flying solo?
