[PHOTO SHOOT] DC/MD/VA area
This looks like it's shaping up to be pretty amazing.
17th, 18th or 19th works well for me (although of course Sat. or Sun. works best). Has the location been determined yet? Someone mentioned the monuments and then the Parkway . . . is that the plan?

Actually (duh!) that's President's Day weekend, isn't it? Which means most of the working folks have Monday off, right? Yet another day to consider (tho Sat./Sun. is still best, imho).
Ok, it was pointed out that I sound like a bit of an @$$ in my previous post. I apologize for that, not at all how it was intended. What I meant to say was that these photo shoots take a lot of time, and since I have a bazillion pictures of my car, I don't want to come out and interrupt something that is a good photo opportunity for guys that don't have any "professional grade" pictures of their car yet. I have a DSLR with a tripod and would be happy to come out and take pictures as well. I've done quite a bit of this, so maybe I can help get some good shots for folks. Has a place been decided on yet?

[QUOTE=kcobean]Depending on location, I might be down for this. Depending on the where and the time of day, pictures will either be good or a waste of time.....
You are absolutely right... if we meet at noon pictures will be super crappy. I suggest to meet around 2.30pm.
Park the cars, talk, prepare ourselves and then shoot with the good light around 4pm. For the location I suggest either one of the spots on GW parkway ( I'll cruise there today to check them out) or Haines point (but I'm not sure if you guys want to drive to the same point again)

I think the idea of a 4 o'clock shoot would be good, especially on the GW, because it would be set against a nice backdrop with the monuments really being set off nicely. I could also do Haines point if people want...I am up for whatever.

So, it sounds like either the Saturday the 18th or Sunday the 19th in the afternoon…
I personally vote for Saturday afternoon at the GW parkway location… but hey I am flexible. I just need to start planning now….

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 18th @ 2.30pm. GW PARKWAY
I did some driving today and I narrowed the choice to two spots.
1) Theodore Roosevelt Island -part of GW parkway. Big parking lot by the river. Should be enough space to fit 20 Z's .Fairly easy access and a lot of space.
or
2.) There is a small overlook/parking area right behing national airport if you're heading towards DC from Alexandria. It is big parking lot with a cool background (jets taking off from National Airport)
Now, please note that these are not ultimate locations so I would love to see some more suggestions regarding the meeting spot.
The good thing is that there are no potholes on GW parkway so slammed Z's should be fine.
Some directions to the parking lot#1:
