He's really dumb. I use to always travel the GW parkway when I worked in Arlington. There are no lights and deers always cross the road. If anything happened at those speeds you're pretty much dead. I guess he didn't know the Park police station is just a mile away. Way to go.

Yeah, GW parkway is a bad speed trap... But I agree that Fairfax PD would have had his a$$ in a sling. Them boys don't play...

Just bad judgement!!!! As soon as he noticed the officer, he should have hit a quick turn, then got out of the car really quick, grabbed his girl's hand and act like he was taking a walk..

now he can't drive for 60 days, Guess he won't get to enjoy most of the summer with his new car.

If you thought that the presence of cops is bad enough, they have already installed some photo radar cameras along the parkway that the park service has been testing... not very discreet since they stick out like a sore thumb and not officially ready to be operated. The scenery is good enough for me to slow down and take it in... damn I miss those days.
