Default plenum spacer

I was at the track today and a guy with a turbonetics G35 mentioned that when he had a plenum spacer in his car he could barely break 12.90. After taking it out he picked up half a second and was running 12.40's. He was advising me to do the same if i wanted to go faster. what are your thoughts/opinions about this. would a car run faster without the plenum spacer? or should i just leave it in?

??

I dont understand how removing the plenum spacer and reducing the volume of air going in the front 2 cyl. can make a car faster.....

... maybe with less power hes hooking up better?

Yeah...only a dyno will determine if he actually gained/lost power after removing the spacer.
