Random pics @ Nissan Active Tuning meet (56k death)
I'm not going to say anything, but it seems to be peaceful in here now. Are those crickets I hear (listen??)
.
This was indeed a good meet, it was like the old chantilly days

Man! this is surprising news, but yet I can see why with so many of these types of shops popping up everyday.
With the exception of a few close customers, Evolution basically abandoned the Z market when Jeff sold his ownership in the business. At least that's the impression I got. Steve is a hardcore Honda guy anyway. But yeah, tough for a small shop with no dyno and one lift to stay in business around here. IMO, without Jeff out interfacing with the community, Evolution was pretty much done for. He worked hard at making a name for Evolution, at least in our community.

I agree 1000% as soon as Jeff said he was no longer affilliated with Evolution, I knew that was pretty much the end. Steve didn't seem to be too interested in the last big meet we held there. Well at least it seems like we have a replacement
What? No effin wonder. Jeff was great when I ordered a set of LE-37T. I wondered what happen to Jeff when dad called over a year ago looking for lugs to fit his Z32 and SF Challenges. They sent him lugs for a Honda, but the installer didn't find out till it was too late.
Great shots Karl, took me awhile to scroll through that first page. I am definitely attracted to the lemans ActiveTuning's Z. Good work with the PS of the plates also.
Looks like a great turnout from the photos.
Btw, $2.23/gal for premium... me like. And it was a surprise to me that Evolution closed, they were one of the few reputable shops in NoVa I thought would last.

Yeah I was the last Z customer for evolution. They did my supercharger and did a hell of a job. Steve was nothing but honest and nice when he did the work. He was telling me he's a huge S200 guy.
Anyways he still has a shop in Gainsville but they don't do work on cars, they just sell parts.

Damn I wish could've attended the event, despite the heat. It's funny, cause later that day I was at the Ferrari lot (not just Ferrari anymore!) with my parents. The sales guy was trying to talk my Dad into a $1300 Maserati lease. Not bad for a $115k car, right?
Anyways, I remember talking to Steve a few months ago, and his heart was with the Honda crowd. EVO was (are?) one of the premier s2k tuners in the country. Business continued to slow after Jeff left, and I don't think Steve had the dedication or patience Jeff did. It's alot of work to run a shop, I was there often. I hear Jeff is now at Chantilly Cadillac/Hummer. The EVO days were fun.

Look @ Mike's expression too ... he's like "here ya go my little round furry friend".
edit: Actually have a look at both men staring @ him. They seem to be in aw of his furryness.
