Ok so my uncle and I were driving around white oak near rt29 area and was about to make a left hand turn, when i spotted a nice clean 06 C6 vette. So instead of turning i decided to see if he would go for a pull or two down the highway. In my rear veiw mirrow, I see he is bobing and weaving in and out of traffic to get into the clear and reaches my passanger side window. The vette drops back and then nails it. I started to hear his engine rev and just as we got neck and neck i nail it as well. I start to pull on him by a car real quick and my uncle is like "holy $hit" he has never been in my turbo Z before. so after pulling through 2-3nd gear i let of letting him catch up but hiting the gas and letting of to hear my BOV. As he tried to catch back up i punch it again and jump out on him when all of a son I hear my uncle saying its a cop its a cop. Im like W.T.F i right away let off the gas as the vette gets next to my window and a guy screaming "Pull the **** over right now ****** Im going to take that ****ing rice burner" I look at my uncle and im like w.t.f he called my **** a rice burner? So it was a three lane street and i was on the left side and he was in the middle lane. The was a van in front of himso instead of droping back behind me he went on the far right hand lane. As soon as i saw that a break hard to bust a U turn i hit it and start heading the other way. I get to my uncles house and drop him of we laugh real quick about him calling my ride a rice burner but i quickly left all i can say is what a *** i was trying to give him thumbs up on a nice vette and he try to hit a flyby on me " who's the ricer now" but then when i pass him he prolly got his feelings hurt. If anyone in the UMDC area see's a orange 06 vette with a short black guy driving with the you know im bad look on his face dont try to race hm his a cop. oh well thats my story.

Would an off-duty cop who participated in a 'street race' be able to issue you a ticket for doing the same? IMO, that's entrapment.

thats what i thought. I would have pulled over but he was screaming and talking to me like some type of street thug and i was like FuC* that im out.

 

IMO, you did the right thing. Was he wearing a uniform? What indication other than "pull over" did you have that he was a LEO?

 

he flashed his badge. which im sure it was office because i myself am in the process of becoming a MoCo police officer i just got pushed back in the process because i was not able to pass one of my test before the deadline on the the Jan. Acadamy.

Mighty funny that he flashed it after he lost, if he would have flashed it from the beginning then I would have said he was legit. Did he have flashers or blinkers on, if not he was just probably some metro police officer that was racing and lost.hahaha

 

Can't trust american muscle, they all could be cops! Technically it's "entrapment" but my friend's cousin had the same thing happen to him while he was cruising around in his 911. Some Camero instigated a race n my friend's cousin whooped him by like 10 cars, next thing you know you see Christmas lights in ur rearview and u get charged for "participating in a speed competition," "reckless driving," and ur license revoked for a year.
