Default Borla exhaust: The hook ups keep rolling in ...

One of Suzie's (my g/f She's a Bartender @ Sweet Water) regulars said he has New Borla exhaust for a 350Z collecting dust at his shop (I think he even said headers included) and willing to sell to me for $400 ... I know I'd be a fool to not pass up this deal I just need to see it first and know the details (if it's a true dual or a quasi). I don't think I've ever heard a Borla exhaust in person (Only Mid-A guy I know that has one is Keith on his G ... Only thing I've ever heard is his evil Stillen). Thought/opinions appreciated.

BTW: I've heard plenty of clips but hearing it in person will beat any sound clip. Also Mike D (MDracer76) can vouch for me on this no BS deal (he was standing right next to me).

I love the way my Borla sounds. It has that exotic tone to it. Especially if you get resonated test pipes. I wish I didnt have to get rid of it but since I got a single turbo I really didnt have much of a choice.

Most exhaust True Dual systems come with 5-6 pieces, Borla has like 93865345 pieces to their exhaust system and many have found leaking problems because of this. The sound is great, nice deep and low tone once you get it on correctly. It's also a very quiet system, not too loud and obnoxious. Borla headers however, give you crap gains or next to none, i'd save up money to get crawfords instead. But $400 is a great deal!

hey karl the borla is kinda quiet.i had it on before i got the s/c and it was just a bit louder then stock.but if you want it louder just get rid of the resonators and weld in straight pipe.it has a single muffler but it is actually 2 mufflers in one unit.

Yeah I saw a pic of all the pieces, def. more than your average exhaust. I forgot to add that this is strictly a "sound" upgrade. It's always funny hearing guys say "I think I added 6 hp with my new exhaust". If he includes the headers I'll probably just resell them.

I thought there's two different borlas out there ... a true dual and a quasi-dual. As for loudness ... "a bit louder" is fine with me.

edit: never mind I know what you mean.

True dual

Since yours is a True Dual how much more breathing does your ST need?

i've got it on my car, i think it sounds great. I wish is was a little louder... but i am going to get the resonators taken out and have the whole thing welded (which is what i should have done from the start).

https://my350z.com/forum/intake-exhaust/204887-sound-clip-borla-without-resonators.html

here is a thread with a clip of the borla without resonators

I can attest to the offer.. its a great deal. esp if the headers are included.

I've heard the borola in person too.. lil' louder than stock... with a 'porsche' like sound to it

I personally am not a fan of the Borla, but no doubt it makes good power NA, and even FI up to 500whp or so. For $400 even I wouldnt pass on that...the headers are garbage Id sell those for like $150 and make some $$$ back.

uh ... did you read my original post? I'm not selling it ... I'm potentially buying it ... are you sure you're in the right regional forum? this was intended for Mid-Atlantic members. Last time I check Ft. Wayne, Indiana was not in the Mid-Atlantic area.
