Haha.. I tried to. But the bumper is polyurathene and didn't even have a crack. The contact was rubber to rubber; so it was all paint damage.

Same thing happened to be bro. Paint didnt come off but it did have several hair line cracks under the clear coat and seperated the bumper from fender as well. I did not claim it as my insurance as its already high enough even though my comprehensive is only $250. Juan and Dave at Function Tuned helped me with getting my bumper lined up with the fender again and it looks about 300 to repaint the front bumper. In my case I didnt feel it was worth reporting and possibly affecting my insurance premium. Your case is a bit different and if you have more damage than just bumper paint it is definitely worth reporting.

So I dropped the car today and tried to get a rental car. My insurance company was giving me a hard time since they said the body shop doesn't have the parts yet. They said they wouldn't pay for the rental car until the body shop has all the parts yet. It sorta makes sense. But I was not aware of this policy until I dropped the car and was sitting in Enterprice. Then I found out from the body shop that the so-called policy is BS. They're required by law that they have to give me a rental car right there regardless. So what is the rule for that really? I'm not really trying to scam my insurance company really. The only thing that concerns me is that hassle! I took half a day off to try to take care of things and I'd have to half to do that again for the same reason...
