Most aftermarket sunroofs leak. Look up threads on it I remember reading a LONG post a while ago about a guy installing a top of the line sunroof in his Z. He updated the thread and after a while creaks and leaks appeared-many new seals later it never stopped. I wouldnt cut a hole in the Z, but thats just my opinion.

Sounds like FTL so far. I guess I'll save that $$$ and get a APR Windsplitter instead. I'd really like anyone who'd had first hand experience to jump into this though. Where's Arthur?!?!

+10

I've never understood the draw of a sunroof, especially not enough to pay to have the roof cut open for it.

One of the Mid-A'ers is looking for a roomy Jay, maybe you should move out here, and get a place with him, then you would be official!

I can say from personal experience that the aftermarket sunroofs are FTL. Not because I don't like them, because I would love to have one but only from the factory and definitely not on a Z. As stated before unless it is the pop up kind its gonna look a little wierd because of the curvature of our roof. And even if it is a pop up those things leak so easy and make your interior smell like ***. I would advise against it. Having one on my old car was a big hassle with all the leaks and for the money it cost to fix it. They also make alot of noise over 120mph.

Unfortunately with the shape of the Z's roofline the sunroof has to sit back fairly far. The front sits about 6-8 inches behind your dome light cluster. Basically, you have to turn around to look out your sunroof rather than look up. But hey if you like that nice Red Neck (literally the back of your neck will get burned) then go for it.

Basic, yes.. There is no longer any AIT Drill Sergeants... The Army did away with that ( As of 1 Jan 08 ) and put Platoon Sergeants and Squad leaders in AIT only..

Sorry for OT op.. Hopefully your decision is made that your not doing this!! Do it for baby jesus pls

yeah not having a sunroof was a setback on me getting the Z b/c I really wanted one in my sports car. I was close to picking up a new vette w/ targa top. Anyways I thought about doing it until I saw Ricky's (no offense) just doesn't flow with the body of the Z IMHO.

Oh and just got off the phone w/ Arthur, they are going to find a junk Z to do some R&D
