Happy New Year
I know it is late, but I wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year (or Spring Festival as they are calling the 2 week holiday).
The year of the Rat is my year, so I figured to make a return to China to see some friend. I have really enjoyed my time here visiting with friend and family in Chongqing and Chengdu and then a visit to Emei mountain.
Man let me tell you, it was COLD as heck, beautiful, but WAY cold and not to mention climbing the last 500 - 1000 meters caused me to get altitude sickness and I had to be taken back down the mountain by SUV.... YIKES
Anyway, Gōng xǐ fā cá

Ahhhhhh, that is ancient secret my son. ONLY the priveledged get to see the beast while it is in hibernation. Belive me...it's long walk with bare foot and beware of bear claws! Unfortunately those who are entitled to see it also must care for it and clean it like it is theirs.

It caught e pretty much off guard. I do have some pictures, but have not had time yet to download to my PC. trust me, the snow was so heavy, there were sections of the forest that were laid flat from the weight. Problem with the views is that the snow was so heavy, it was difficult to get many clear pics.
I am on my way to bangkok and then philippines this morning. --Peace
