My GF met him 4-5 years ago at the Restaurant she worked at, she liked him but they never were anything more then friends (or so she says) he really needed help and I guess maybe she felt that was a way to make him like her more or maybe she wanted to be a good friend? I don't know, she says she didn't know back then just how serious co-signing was, or better yet, she never thought much of it until she pulled her credit 2 months back.....

She knows how I feel about this, she knows how I feel about her signing for someone, I think I was very clear to just how stupid that was, it was the past, **** happens, it still bugs me to think about her doing that, (REALLY BUGS ME) but it was in 04 she just turned 20 and well, sometimes people make the wrong choices. It clearly bothers her that she did what she did so I'm trying to not make a big deal about it and I'm doing what I can to try and get this car back.

for the record, 14 payments were 2+ months late and 6 were 1 month + late.
As soon as I found out I told her to pay the car off ASAP, she paid it in full right after we found out. 6xxx.xx was the balance. So shes out 6K + time and her credit score is fully F-ed, but we're working on that putting in stuff to the credit companies showing that we just found out and that the car was paid in full ASAP, when it first happened she couldn't get a loan for anything, now that its paid for, shes getting letters in the mail for preapproved car loans, so paying it off in full no doubt gave her a nice bump in credit.

I talked with FFX police today, they said the DMV as with most any officer can give her the tag # as long as she can show them the title and that she is part owner of the car.

Once we get the tag #s life will be a bit easier, I think at that point we'll hire a repo guy.

I also talked with the police about if we find the car, who to call to report it as NOT stolen and how to handle it. We're pretty much good to go, both the police and our lawyer agree we're doing things right, we just need to find it.

It's just annoying, if the cars worth 10K shes willing to give him 4K and take the car or let him pay the 6XXX.XX back. .....

I'm hoping she can get to a police station, or DMV tomorrow on her break.
