How much are they gonna charge you to put it in? I got quoted like 400 bucks with a Magnaflow X pipe and install. I didn't think it was gonna be that much. i guess i thought it was gonna be less..... im gonna check around for prices

Hey I know this is an old post but Is anyone still interested in this mod?
I'm about to get it done this saturday. currently running UTR HFC's and HKS exhaust.
I'm using Megan racing's X pipe and hopefully everything comes out well this saturday.

I would assume it would sound similar to the FI intimidator, If its a resonated X pipe then it would decrease rasp also(Magnaflow). The mixing of the Exhaust pulses in the X pipe would give your exhaust that stock VQ rumble we all fell in love with, but a lot deeper and louder, rather than the dual angry three cylnder rasp. I love the way mine sounds with Invidia test pipes, If you ever want to hear it I would be glad to meet up.

So I got a New setup for My HKS Exhaust.... Seriously sounds Amazing IMO.. To make a comparison... Basically at idle its quiet but deep, anything before 3000 RPM sounds like the Borla on steroids (very muscle sounding) but not obnoxious loud, then at about 3500 RPM it sounds like a beast. I'll have to get video clips but i know already it won't do justice. I originally was going to get the X pipe welded in (Megan Racing) but I realized after we had it on the lift it wasn't going to fit. So instead we went with a New Custom H pipe... I had been running H pipe less for awhile because the exhaust was used for a Single Turbo, therefore it had major rasp and a funny rattle sound. Now I have a Custom Y pipe section... Basically from the resonators to the cats was Completely new super clean welds got it all done for 150.00. I'll have to get some pics sometime so that you can see what im talking about. Basically, the HKS's H pipe is located close to the resonators. The Location of mine definitely creates better cross flow and is welded right near where the bends begin to come together before the resonator.
Seriously need pics now cuz I don't even know what I just wrote....
Anyways, long story short... my HKS is VERY unique sounding now... and I love it ... No longer an angry exhaust note, no RASP whatsoever running and running the HFC's.

I also got the X pipe put in, I mated it with Dannys old resonated test pipes and Nismo R-Tune headers and JWT S1 Cams it sounds great, practically no rasp and a nice exotic sound. Dave at F:T put it in and didn't have to cut any extra off the exhaust it went in perfectly where the H-Pipe was.
