Subject: Please help Chopper
Body: PLEASE READ!!!!

On Friday 4/18, the U.S. Marshalls came to my house with a warrant for arrest for someone who does not even live at my house and was not even at my house. They pounded on the door at 630am. My roommate opened the door and they rushed up in the house. My dog, CHOPPER, came running down the stairs, as he always does when someone comes up in the house. He actually had to use the bathroom and was about to go run out the door to **** and ****. The ****ing U.S. Marshall ****ing shot my dog with a .45 FROM BEHIND after Chopper had already passed him. He wasnt going to bite them or attack them, they were never in danger. They were just scared of a PIT BULL.

Long story short. Chopper is ALIVE. He is in the hospital. The bullet went thru his sinus cavity and is stuck in his cheek, that side of his cheek was shattered. It is absolutely amazing that he survived. He is my ANGEL.

The docs say that as long as the bullet fragments lodged in his brain don't nget infectced, that he should recover. SO. Chopper is recovering...SLOWLY BUT SURELY.

Late Friday Night he actually got up and was walking around, he went outside to poo and pee. Then 45 min later he had a seizure. They said the seizure was because of all the head trauma and swelling in his brain. They dont know if he will continiue to have seizures or not, they just have to monitor him.

On Saturday 4/19 I went to see him at around 8pm. I was amazed to see them walk him over to me. I was able to take him out for 30 minutes and walked him around. He was sniffing everything and just kept walking and walking. I let go of his leash and he was actually running. Til he got really tired and I took him back in, I gave him a cup of water. they said that they have been feeding him small handfuls off food. His swelling has gone down some, and he looked A LOT better than he did the night before. He even gave mommy a kiss and he laid with me.

Chopper will have to stay in the hospital for awhile longer. SO. His hospital bill for the first 48 hrs was already $3000. They make me pay up front for his services. I am trying to sell my bike for 5 grand. I am expecting his medical expenses to reach up to 10 grand.

I am HOPING to do a fundraiser to help raise money towards Chopper's bill. I am working on some ideas. SO if you have any ideas, please let me know.

If you would like to donate money, that would be GREATLY appreciated very much. You can even pay directly to the vet under my name, or pay to my paypal account. Every little bit will help.

Chopper is such a good boy, a beautiful boy, and mommy's angel. I can't breathe without him.

to pay to my paypal, my paypal account link is on my myspace page

Last time I checked US Marshalls have the highest clearance out their, I am pretty sure in alot of cases they don't even need a warrant under probable clause. US Marshalls have all the rights that normal state police don't IIRC.

poor doggie,

you should talk to a lawyer, hell call PETA they might pay for it, or talk to someone in the media, if you are completely clear of all charges and they are totally in the wrong the should pay for all the damages they caused you. And with the vet explaining the bullet path, they cant ******** their way out of this, motherf*cking pigs

oh my god i'm so sorry to hear that. i can't even imagine what i would do if that happened to either of my dogs. You should try getting some animal rights people involved- i'm sure there are some lawyers that deal specifically with this type of thing and will probably not even want to collect $ from you unless they are able to help (in that case you would add the legal fees to the amount you are requesting be paid) pet him on the head for me and kiss his lil wet nose. I hope he gets better soon.

I feel like i would seek legeal action for something like this, but honstly as messed up as the world is. I have a feeling they would say something that the dog was atacking and compleatly write you off and give you notheing, and they would get away with it. sad stuff

the more i think about this the more it's irrating me. Do you know which man shot the dog? You should call that mans supervisor and let him know what happened, that he clearly shot the dog from behind and see if they are willing to take care of the charges- otherwise i would really lawyer up, call the spca they will investigate it. There's nothing worse than having 50 angry animal rights people in front of the door to your office. .. god this is so sad.

2 good points were made here
1. sue the individual officer who shot the dog, not the department
2. call the newspaper.

how about: don't spend $3k plus on a dog. -- donate it to charity to help people that can't feed themselves. then go buy another dog.

sorry for your troubles, but that's my opinion.
