Default March of Dimes - 4/27/2008

Hey guys, this year as a community service project through a club at school I'm participating in the March of Dimes this Sunday, the 27th. The purpose of the event is to raise money to help ensure that premature babies that require extended hospital care receive all of the treatment and attention they need to get their chance at life. Each participant is supposed to raise money to donate to the March of Dimes organization, and this is where I call you wonderful people in the Mid-A (and later the rest of the board).

If you would like to make a difference to someone, but wasn't sure how, this is a great way to do it. You can donate online at http://www.marchforbabies.org/rmc97. Any donations are very much appreciated and will make a difference to someone somewhere, be it a baby that is born prematurely, or the family who worries endlessly about the child's life.

My contribution goal is $200, but I have a feeling that with your help the contribution can go above and beyond this figure. Do what you can. Make a difference in a life today.

Thank you for your time,
Rob

It was weird, my roommate sent an email asking for donations. And we're like WTF, when did you start volunteering? lol I think he's trying to suck up to corporate.

Maybe it's cause no one knows you? That's all I can infer from your join date, at least. And I prefer to donate my time instead of money, which I do a lot, and maybe a lot of other members do too. And when I donate my money I like to know that the funds are well-managed. (In my experiences, they usually aren't)

Very true, I haven't been here long. Guess it's easy to shy away from the new guy. lol

As far as the funds being well-managed, this isn't going through me or my school or any of that. The funds go straight to the March of Dimes organization, which is a nationally recognized and highly reputable charity organization. They've done some really great things in the past and I see no reason to believe that will change. If that is a concern I assure you it's going to good use.
