When you go out to seek a job, what is the most important thing HR looks at besides your formal education.. EXPERIENCE.

You wont come 10 miles from joining my dev team without at least 5~10 years hands on exp.

I'll take a guy that has been shot down(captured) and suffered for his country, over a guy that props himself up by talking about other peoples suffering.

Dude, I've been told that I have "thug" perception. But, then again you found out what I do today so that kinda adds to the thought process.

Yo, Ethan's cool. Its a forum community. If you don't like the topic just dont get involved.

I am personally starting a website called VeteransagainstMcCain.com. So, I guess that kinda tells you who I am voting for.

I'm voting for Obama. It's funny reading some peoples responses. Obama's a socialist....ok then McCain's a Capitalist. Whatever... Either way you look at it, they're both politicians, they both lie, one seemingly more times than the other, one's president-like, the other is somewhat of a bully... we can go on and on. The only thing I can go off of is their campaign's and how they conducted themselves, because I honestly don't follow politics all that closely. McCain's campaign is ridiculous. Coming up with the most ludicrous things they can think of to question Obama's character. One we all know is probably not spotless, but damn, the guys not a bad guy, McCain said it himself at one of his rallies. So then why would he run a campaign like he has? Desperation. That's what I call it. And I don't want a desperate President or one that's so erratic. And why would you pick Palin as a running mate? Get serious! I want a President that's poised and distinguished. One that will represent America in a decent way, and not continue to have other countries hate us.

Bottom line. The problems we face in this country can be fixed if we all do our part to take responsibility for everything we should take responsibility for.

I'm voting for Obama for several reason which I will try and explain. I don't know how many people here have read any of his books such as the "Audacity of Hope", but Obama epitomizes what many of our parents told us when we were kids "That you can be whatever you want to be". Obama comes from humble beginnings and adversity, similar to some of us in. He grew up without a father, he was bi-racial at a period of time where it taboo, he grew up fairly poor with only the mother and the support of his grandparents. Even with these issues, he went to an ivy league college, graduated, went to law school, was the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review, graduates again, and goes to Chicago to community organize. Obama graduated as an attorney from Harvard, but yet he selflessly goes to Chicago and help as a community organizers with poor community of Chicago's Southside. Obama could have worked for almost any law firm in the world, but he choose to help and elevate others who don't have the money to pay him, only gratitude and self accomplishment. Obama accomplishes this all without half the advantages most African-Americans have today to get ahead. Obama stirs an emotion in us all that we can change America, even in the state of chaos it is in today. He challenges Americans like president before:

"Ask not of what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country."-JFK

McCain has he positives and is respectable. But should have vetted Mitt Romney. If he would win and die in office, Palin would be in control of the US which is terrifying.

I would consider people to legitimately look at who they are thinking of voting for. I would hate to have to potentially get recalled to fight Iran, Syria, or Pakistan or see any of you get drafted since the military in the past few years have been lowering their standards such as waiving people 40+, minor criminals, minor health conditions (asthma) to meet its quotas.

Think about it

It's interesting hearing some of the things in the forum about Obama and Biden. Obama is not a muslim, a terrorist, nor a Marxist socialist. Saying Obama is a terrorist because he knows William "Bill" Ayers when Ayers was in his "Weather Underground" days and Obama was 8. Also If you are guilty by association such as the McCain/Palin Ticket are linking Obama to terrorism, MODERATOR ban everyone in here "Free fillintheblank" people who are now banned off this forum. See what I mean, the idea seems a bit ludicrous doesn't it. Recently the GOP has been trying to link Obama to a PLO supporter who is professor in the United States. What some news networks fail to tell Americans (i.e. FOX "SPINZONE" NEWS) that McCain lead a GOP committee who gave the same guy (and his Palestinian Commitee) he is trying to link to Obama 500,000 dollars during the 90's. What a hypocrite. I think in America today we have less tolerance for others than almost any democratic country in the world. It seems like if anyone says "Muslim" or name is Jim, John, Bill it automatically is affiliated with terrorism. I don't think that most Americans realize how many things in America are socialized and have been socialized for years. I think that the 527 groups and GOP has did an excellent propaganda smear campagin against Obama.. to bad a majority of Americans today my not be to tolerant but are smarter than that...

What makes me laugh the most is the number of younger voters (under 29) that will benefit from an Obama tax cut, but talk like they are making $250K+ and are worried about having their taxes raised. Many seem to be living in the lottery mentality that they are worried when (not if) they make over $250K they will pay higher taxes. Reality = 2% of americans make over the $250K/yr.

Also, the GOP has worked hard to conceal that for small businesses that the taxes are based on net income, not gross revenues. If my restaurants generate $1.5mil in sales, but I only take home $200K in profit, my taxes will not increase much under Obama.

IMO we have seen what the Republicans have to offer over the past 8 years and it = FAIL. It is truly time for our country to move in a new direction.

NO! Obama is going to raise taxes. McCain said so. Morons! I know many people that say they won't vote for Obama because of this. You fools. I didn't realize there were so many families that made over 250K...and a lot of them are on these forums. LOL Why would you only be driving a Z then.....

I'm glad to see that there's another intelligent American here. I was so sick of hearing people saying that "Obama is gonna raise taxes!"... OMG read about the actual data before saying that.

Below are the Brain Trusts for each candidate, broken down by section... please take the time to read it, and educate yourself on each sides policies if you are interested... presented by the The Council on Foreign Relations, these are the advisors that will actually have a say in making policy decisions
