No offense and Malikot this isn't directed at just you I'm just using you as an example as others are just as guilty in this thread.... but alot of people talk big. Everyone says shame shame shame but in reality have done it themselves.
I find this portion of your post quite ironic since you have said this on those "late night runs". I could find others but it's sad that everyone is calling out those involved and this thread has taken a COMPLETE hypocritical tone imo.
Hits too close to home when it's someone you know? Now all of a sudden it's bad? And you want people to rot in hell? Come on...I know it's upsetting but everyone please think before you go ranting and say something completely hypocritical.
RIP to her. She was the innocent one.

I got a call from a friends mom saying watch out for cops, they are looking for a tinted black Z with spoiler....
Horrible that this had to happen to an innocent person, but something is deff fishy with the civic....no way dude flew on to a car going 40 as many of you have also spoeculated, and the whole catching license plate numbers is deff BS
Hope they end up charging the civic since hes obvioisly full of ****
and my condolences goes out to Songs family

RIP.
The description of the Z is kinda troubling to me though. I mean which one is it a 2005 or 2007? I mean I guess they could have made a mistake somewhere but in 2006 the Z made changes to the wheels and lights and more changes in 2007-2008. I mean I can see how one could confuse the 2003 - 2005 Z at first glance but not get is as exact as saying 2005-2007.
Even if I were to consider that the witness knew nothing about the Z at all wouldn't they just lump all 2003 to current 350Z's in that description?
Now let me note on the vehicle plate numbers 1-E-C. In all honesty the number "1" (one) would hold less weight than the other 2 numbers they're looking for because "1" could reasonably be confused with the letter "I" at 8pm under low light conditions or visa-versa.
Everything about the news report sound fishy. Honestly DMV records could easily crossrefference vehicle make, model, and color to even part of a plate number. That information not even hard to get considering I think it's public record.
BTW. a 2,900lb+ car with 3 people in it would NOT go airborne at 35mph even if you drove it off a ramp.
