Mid-A Epic Random-ness Discussion Thread
lol the new ones are supposed to have more "action"
I peeped the first one on On-Demand just to see what all the fuss was about. I fell asleep twice in it and still have no idea what it was about. I feel bad for kids these days, i grew up with cool vamps like the Lost Boys while you guys get ***gy-metro dudes with bad hair cuts.....
Went to AAM yesterday to see how much they want for them to machine off 3mm of aluminum of the two front runners of the lower plenum....$350. For a total of 6mm of metal. Eff that, I will use my angle grinder very carefully, or some low *** grit and a sander for like 30 minutes in one spot. Could not believe it. Also their baseline dynos are $85. Will (who is a super nice guy, I did like him) said they would charge me $385 to do a baseline dyno, then machine the lower plenum. I guess they then wanted me to install it, and bring it back for another dyno to see the gains. Which Will said they would help me out with a price, but by they time its all done and over I'm paying close to $500 to have them machine down a little metal and do 2 different dyno pulls. o.O
I might as well have just BOUGHT the MREV2 for these prices. So I think I'm just going to end up trying to shave down the metal on my own, with either a file or grinder, or some method.
The only upside to their prices, was they only wanted $100 to POLISH the lower plenum which is actually a VERY good price. And then immediately after, I asked him how much they would charge to polish the rest of my upper plenum and Will saw what I did there...hahaha
Overall, they seem like nice guys there. The shop is still completely empty except for like 4 wheels sitting on the showroom floor, and some computers in their back offices. I took a peek into their warehouse and it looked like there may have been some cars in there. I saw a few turbos and parts laying out. And in the parking lot behind the building was a couple GT-R's and the other employees' cars.
