it doesnt go on your record....just pay the ticket and be done with it. I think the fine is about 300

which is cheaper than a lawyer.

they can clock you...this isnt the stone ages anymore...If you can take 4meg pics with your phone and connect it to a laptop for internet connection, I wouldnt argue that the cops have radars that are located in the front of the vehicle.

TIME OR MONEY..... you decided your time was worth more than your money, so you have to pay. I understand your frustration...I HATE slow as drivers.... but you let someone else control your mood, your car,a nd your actions... now that time has cost you money.

I got a 62 in a 35 while drifting around a corner in the rain....(NOT SMART OR RECOMMENDED) but the park was empty and I had help incase I screwed up.... my fine was 200 bucks...no points... no record.

I got caught doing 110 in a 65 in VA. I found a lawyer the day of my case and he took care of everything. I think I paid like $700.

I hope you got laid the night you got the ticket!! $700 is still a lot of dough!! How much did the lawyer cost you? What did your driving record show as a result of it?

The park is on federal property. Tickets there do not go on your public license. He could be banned from all parks in va though, I am not totally sure how bad a penalty he can get when on fed property. Its separate but the same, so i dont know.

Like I said. I got 62 in a 35 and its not on my va record, no points and about 250 was the fine. I got another one just ouside that mountain tunnel after the PA turnpike going west...forget where it is..but same thing 76 in a 55 (just changed from 65) and it was a 100 fine, no points, no record because that is a national park...

so does it matter if the offense is larger or not? that is the question.

at this piont, pick up the phone can call to try to pay the fine....that would save you months of headach...

did they say you have to show up in court? Read the back of the ticket, call and try to pay the fine, that will at least get you an idea if you need a lawyer or not.

quick Google search from: http://srislaw.com/PracticeAreas/Vir...-Scenarios.asp
Different ways a person who is driving in Virginia may be given a ticket for reckless driving n Virginia. Take comfort in the fact that you are not the only person to ever have received a reckless driving ticket in Virginia. Drivers all throughout Virginia are frequently given tickets for reckless driving in Virginia.

A Virginia reckless driving charge is a very serious moving violation. In fact, it is a class 1 misdemeanor in Virginia.

You ask what a class one misdemeanor is. A class one misdemeanor is the highest level of misdemeanor criminal act a person can be convicted of in Virginia. The maximum statutory penalty for a class one misdemeanor in Virginia is up to twelve (12) months in jail, and or up to a $2500 fine.

There are even more potential headaches of being convicted of a reckless driving charge in Virginia. You could lose your license for up to six months, lose your job because you were convicted of reckless driving or even lose your security clearance. You can be charged and convicted of reckless driving, even on federal property such as the George Washington Parkway commonly referred to as the GW Parkway, the military bases such as Fort Belvoir, Quantico Marine Base, federal parks, etc.

but they dont say the penalties.....I dont think they are the same.

Just an update!

Had court tuesday, all the way in harrisonburg, VA... Drove the new Z down there. It was a great morning drive!

Anyway, long story short. The judge clowned the park ranger for giving me two tickets for the same thing. Made her feel like a fool in front of all her friends, not to mention all of the other people there on trial!

The judge made her pick one charge. Reckless or excessive speed.

Hanging her head dejectedly, she chose excessive speed. The judge apologized to me for the inconvenience and lowered the fines and such. SO I keep my license, everything is happy and lovely, and I will see you all at some meets with my new bad *** Z.
