Default M2 Test Pipes

Hey guys, I ordered a set of Meagan test pipes after Barn warned me about Kenetix pipes and their tendency to crack. So, about 10 mins after placing the order some guy from the company calls and says, "We're all out of Meagan pipes but I have these other ones called M2 and they're just as good". I feel kinda like I got shafted, but he reduced the price and adjusted the order. Anyone ever heard of them or can vouch for their quality?

Hummm, I'm interested too. I'm still debating on test pipes or high flow cats.

I never got the testpipes/hi flow cats mod. The work it takes to replace them as with the pretty small gains just turns me away from them.

Money for test pipes/high flow cats = better saved for FI, you want power, do it right! Or, dump it into suspension mods. I've never been in a fast N/A Z before, no matter how many mods it had, however I have been in many slow Zs that could out handle most anything.

Already got Hypermax III coils, Hotchkiss sways F/R and SRC adjustable camber/toe mods. WTF else am i gonna spend on to make sure i can burn Mustangs in the corners??? I've never been for a ride in a FI car and I can't see paying for all that work. I plan on keeping my Z [either until I die or they repo it] so i really don't need 800 hp for a daily driver...

Never heard of M2 until today. I searched a few threads on here and it looks like some people are using their products. Didn't see anything about test pipes though. I've been using AAM test pipes for awhile with no issues. I would also suggest getting your car tuned after installing them.

Bushings?

I don't own an FI car but I've been in the passenger seat plenty of times. Boost is pure excitement especially when the power comes on exponentially rather than linearly. It is the sudden kick in the face and uncertainty that the tires will put the power to the ground that makes it exciting. Think of it like riding the Volcano (rollercoaster @ KD) for the first time on its grand opening run. That thing will pull like no other and god knows if it is going to stay on the rails.

they're probably made in the same plants as the Megan/Intense Power/TopSpeed/E-bay test pipes since very few companies actually make their own products anymore.. Megan and TopSpeed pieces are identical.. all made overseas and they just tack weld their own little metal plate onto it with their name on.. at least Ebay and Topspeed don't try to pass them off as they made them lol

I believe berks have braces on both their TP and HFC that will keep it from cracking at the welds.

Ok, so based on the responses I need 02 spacers, a tune, and to make sure I have quality braces. Anything else I need?

[before Jeffie gets me that FI set up for my b-day that is]

Just get the Berk TP's and be done with it. Stick with quality parts and you'll have less problems in the long run.

I bought some used UTR resonated test pipes that already came with the O2 defoulers. Problem solved!

you dynoed the car before, then swapped cats and dynoed it after on the same dyno with no tuning changes? and is that hp, or whp?

There's nothing wrong with high flow cats or test pipes its just that I "opinion" feel that its too much work for little gain plus issues for some people with check engine lights causing smog testing issues and IMO it adds a ricer rasp to Zs. Some people like barnie do like it, so its all based on what you like.

Spacers/non foulers sometimes do the trick but there is people who still get check engine lights. In MD that's an automatic fail on the smog test.

To answer Clays question just call Hills up and see what he says about them. who do you plan on using to install them? it's not that bad of an install but it's not fun.

I'd help you with it, but you would have to clay my Mercedes while I work on your car.
