So my girlfriend got a new camera (Nikon D90) and I was playing with some night shots. No tripod, set to auto and no flash.... def need a tripod next time.

I bought the D90 Book for Dummies for her... she hasnt touched it yet but I think I will crack it open and figure out how to work this things better. Its definitely a cool camera seems like there is so much you can do with it.

Nice shots Ken! Keep practicing and they'll only get better
I bought my GF a new set up like that for Christmas as well and just like you...find myself using it as much as she does. lol Reading those books helps learning but really just playing with settings and stuff is the best way I found. Read the books to get the basic functions of settings and play with them from there.
Nice camera too btw.

I think its the 55 mm. I want to go out one night and try again. I am digging how this turned out. I will take Jeffs and Robbie advice and play with it more to get the exposure correct so its not washed out in some areas. Perhaps filters can help.
