Turn off traction control before you get on the strip. This is a noob mistake that I made for my first one and a half track days before someone told me I should turn it off. Fail.

Lol well yeah I figured that. I've been to the track one time like 2 years ago when my car was pretty much stock. I guess what I mean is I need some pointers on launching.

check out "rangers" launching tips, although he is referring to launching a corvette tons of people who drive other types of cars have followed his advice... he has some good tips.. he also has shifting tips, and burnout tips as well

^thanks for the link. would you suggest burning out to be necessary with an N/A setup and summer tires?

nah, just a quick clean will do fine, no need to burn out on street tires..

We aren't able to do a standing burn out anyway. Unless you disable the system by pulling out the plug. So just a regular burnout with suffice.

I'm in the same boat. My TCS has been on since the day I drove it off the lot, so this'll definitely be a learning experience for me.

+1, it's very effective...

attempting to do burnouts on your street tires is pointless and may end up snapping an axle due to wheel hop.

I doubt I will have any time this week to put enough miles on the Z to break in the new clutch but I might be able to come out to chill for a while. I have been avoiding the track to prevent the addiction from setting back in...

The gates don't open until 4pm? Why so late?
