He's got several shows running on BBC America. Including one where he's teaching prisoners to run a bakery while in jail.

BBC Gordon > > > American Gordon.

BBC shows give legit business details on running a restaurant. He ask great questions and explains the reason behind prices and portion sizes and such

American kitchen nightmares is him screaming, cussing, with very little detail on running a business. He makes statements like John Madden. In order to make money you need more customers.

Damn straight, anything American is now so dumbed down....

When we were in the DR they had TLC it blew my mind, it was about learning stuff.

Come back home and it's just about cake boss and some fat baby boo boo.

Discovery channel now has myth busters, that's it.

History, every now and then it has a good show.

Lol Jeff you need to travel to some developing countries, then come back. Some of the things that you gripe about will seem trivial

Number 1 place I want to visit Vietnam, not the cities, but where linh is from, out in the country, her family back home finally installed a toilet in their house I believe that happened last year.

2nd place on my list of places to go would be Central America, I'd love to visit Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua.

After that, I'd like to hit Spain, Italy and France. For food reasons of course.

what's weird Is the Dominican Republic is a pretty low quality of living place depending on your money level. Even there, they have good tv. For some reasons American tv just straight up sucks. Nothing wrong with stupid channels running stupid programs, but when all the what was once educational channels are the main pusher of stupid programming, I just don't get it. Leave that for MTV and VH1.

I met this French Viet girl awhile ago at a wedding. She's one of those people that backpack all the world. She told me the best time she had was backpacking in East Asia. She said backpacking in Europe is so commercialized that you don't really get the true backpacking experience. Once I'm done with school in a few months I'm planning on actually doing some backpacking.

I think by some strange twist of fate, Anthony Bourdain stole your life.

Nice nice, Yea I did the backpacking thing a bit in Europe and Australia/ New Zealand, a bit in Turkey. But that was also when I was on limited funds(and the reason the vette stayed stock so long after college, all extra money went to trips ha).

Doing the hostel/ backpack thing was a blast and cheap, but now that I have a more stable income I doubt I would backpack again, I would probably do something in between backpacking and luxury lol.

only exception would be a overland expedition in Latin America(i.e buy a 4x4 and trek through various countries) that would be a blast, but could be sketchy. It's an idea my dad and I have tossed around quite a bit
