DATE AND TIMES:
8/26/12 from 11am to 6pm. Car show registration from 10am to 12pm, judging begins at 12, awards ceremony around 5:30. Race registration starts at 10am, heads up qualifying at 12:00 and 1:00. Eliminations at 2:30, 3:30, & 4:30.

EVENT ACTIVITIES:
Car/truck/bike show, 1/4 mile drag racing, Usaci double points stereo crank it up contest, burnout contest (time permitting), vendors, pit midway, and live DJs.

All spectator tickets and competitor registration forms can be bought on the day of the show at the front gate. Last time I went the staff was directing people to an empty parking lot because they "ran outta spaces" but there was more than enough spaces for people to park at the track. I've been to this event a few times, and its always the same. I guess I'd be more supportive if the proceeds were to go to a good cause like the other meets/events. 17 bucks for admission, i'd rather have a bbq w/the O.G's

Khoi, nothing against you, but imo this event isn't all that great...

 

yeah I've never been to any track events at capitol, only MIR this will be my first

This will be the first import event with the new ownership... they redid much of the track (repave and all) and it's a way better layout now with more parking. Hopefully the event turns out better than in the past.

 

yup, we would get rained out lol. Nice when the rain held off though.

 

Capital announcer: "Hold on! We gonna get this track dried off as soon as this little shower passses by!"

Me: <Looks at huge dark clouds coming towards the track and hears several cracks of thunder> "Uh, hey guys, wanna go see a movie?"

BTW, Bourne Legacay was pretty cool.

Oh, and one the way to the movies we saw a lightning strike really close by and a transformer blowing up. Anyone else see that heading on 3 north around 1:45pm????

don't worry Khoi, we all heard you when you were on the PA system. I was going towards the AAM booth, but then got distracted by the 350Z with the LS2 swap starting up...

 

HAHA that was actually pretty funny. my coworker actually video taped me instead of backing me up. i was like i have no clue about this said drift car that's next to our booth lol
