Although I am sure the police would have to do it because CL will not disclose that information.

Unless someone views it in person and scraps/flakes the primer off to see of there's any paint under it...
Does the kit come primered? If not why would someone buy a nice kit and primer it without painting it?

I really wouldn't doubt if this was it.
First off from what we've read it was last seen on 95, 95 leads all the way up to Jersey. It's the quickest route, a 4 hour drive doing the speed limit. Second, I think Jersey and New York are well known for this ****. Taking a car and just stripping it.
The police should find this guy and make him prove that he did in fact bought this kit. If he can't, that dirtbag needs to be thrown into a cell until he can cough up some more information about what happened to this car.

Another area of the country? It's 4 hours away. It's not like they are asking someone in Cali where they got the kit.
If I was asked where I got something on my car due to an investigation about car thefts I would totally help them out. I would feel like it's not an invasion of my privacy because I've got nothing to hide and would want to help the guy out the best that I could.
That's just me though...

Damn straight we are when we are told to show proof of stuff. If someone had a tip pointin to me i would understand but if I was told it was a random check i would say **** off.
I have SSR wheels that came on my car. What happens when I cant prove the I bought them? Way to many factors come into play. Would i have to go to court and under oath say the wheels were not stolen?

Yea I see where you're coming from, too many factors would come into play to have that happen.
This entire thing is fishy and I feel for the owner. Car was spotted on I-95, that kit ended up on CL in Jersey awhile after the car was stolen, and now we find out it has primer on it.

I think it's safe to say the car spotted on 95 was a different car. Highly doubt someone would drive a stolen car that stands out as much as that car on a major highway when most likely when it was stolen it went on a flat bed. My guess is they covered the car and trailered it where ever it went or more likely they chopped it up within hours of it being stolen.
No one is going to keep that car whole unless it's getting shipped over seas.

Damm as a born and raise Virginian, I would never expect a nice car to get stolen like this unless it was a crappy car like early 90s honda civic.
Ill keep a look out in the DC and MD area.
