I have seen a lot of hooplah about Grounding kits... I've seen people advertise that they have them on their car, I've seen people go crazy about them...

What are they used for. I mean, I know that they're of course used for grounding purposes, but what is the positive overall effect of having one?

 

Every imaginable question and some you haven't imagined is discussed in a very helpful depth long string started by insaneamine. should be easy to do a search. I was skeptical initially but after reading other's comments/opinions, I ended up buying one.
