Not to nitpick but the 95 GT is a 302cid

Half the people on this board should be banned if what fasttford95gt said was enough justification to get banned.

 

Oops. My Mustang knowledge is lacking. I kind of skipped that whole generation between the Fox body and the current 'Stang.

Well, I do agree there's a double standard here, but I look at it like this: my350Z.com has to take care of its (future) sponsors. That means keeping a high interest among 350Z drivers who are more likely to purchase stuff from said sponsors than us dometic guys. I know I'm not in the market for a GReddy twin turbo kit.

There's plenty of mud thrown at the domestics - if I hear "Camaros can't handle" one more time I'll puke. It happens with every new car - eventually these types will put the mags down, stop worrying about stock versus stock comparisons and hit the tracks. Eventually the 350Z's place in the pecking order will be established.

 

forgive my ignorance, but do you guys have 350z drivers posting crap like this on your forums? i dont go around to other ppl's boards and talk crap to ppl about how i beat a domestic or anything. what is the point of that? it will only stir up trouble and makes other domestic owners look bad.

Honestly...I know I am out spoken...I know I can be hard headed...but really.... I'm in the same boat...just a car enthusiast that happened to fall on the "Mustang" side....

he could have come in here and just said "i raced a 350Z and beat him"....listed his mods and that would have been a good post. people would have just responded to his post with positive feedback....not like the responses this tread is getting now. this thread is just turning into a huge argument about whose better. ya know what....none of us are better.

You have trolls on ever board...it may not be specifically a 350Z driver...but on the mustang boards, you get the F-bodies, Imports, Neons (yeah...you should have heard one guy on Stangnet...lol) Dakota RTs....it doesn't matter, what car is driven....Trolls are on every board

 

Oh yeah, we sure do. We've got them all. Some are worse than others. Personally, I find the RX-7 trolls the most amusing - they seriously think that a Wankel is some kind of magical perpetual motion cold fusion device born on a now-dead planet and getting its power from the Earth's yellow sun.

Fact of life on all internet forums - other car owners particpiate, and some troll. I've seen it everywhere, even at streetkiaz.com.

 

I think this thread should've been locked since the beginning to prevent 3 pages of wasted bandwidth.

 

Ummm...there are 350Z fans who would dispute this point if it weren't for the fact that they've been banned.

It has nothing to do with domestic owners...some of the biggest battles were waged (and still are) with S2K owners...who get banned as well for starting ****.

I agree that plenty of stuff still gets through...that's just how it is with such a large site. There is only so much you can look at...I personally check hundreds of posts every day, but still don't come close to seeing everything. We do what we can to make this a pleasant place to hang and share, but we are going to miss plenty...and we do come down on Z owners as well for breaking the rules. Are we biased? Sure, how couldn't we be. But as has been stated, just look around and there are plenty of members who post kills on the Z and pick on things about the car...but if they behave like adults and are here not to solely start flame wars there's usually no problem.

 

That's cool if you like those type of forums. I prefer moderation myself, not heavy handed, but just basic moderation. I think most post here because they agree with the moderators level of moderation. I personally don't have the time nor energy to get into big flame wars, and those are all you seem to find on non-modded boards.

 

OK I don't drive eigther of the cars so I am not baised. Exept that i am a nissan head have a 200sx se-r with some mods and a 240 before that. So let me get to my point I have gone through most of the post and noticed one thing. I don't drive a 350 but I assume from drag racing experience that neigther of them had experience racing. First of all 100 shot on a mustang but no mention of an aftermarket clutch in the mods? That is enough to smoke a stock clutch. Then the nissan rev limter bouncing. My nissan has a rev limiter to but if i am in those rpms there is no way i would get a good launch or traction for that matter. ANd I never heard of anybody reving to the limiter to show off. On my car at least reving to my launch rpm and staying there is enough to show interest in a race. Just a thought you know

 

No a 100 Shot will not fry the stock clutch on a Mustang. Not ith street tires anyway or even drag radials for that matter.

I don't recall anyone saying that the 350Z launch his car while bouncing off the rev limiter. I do believe that what was said is that the 350Z reved at the Stang and in doing so took it to the rev limiter.

Anyway that is what I got from reading the post.

 

I haven't been here long, but I am also ashamed of the attitude that that guy has, as I am a Mustang owner too. I have a real love for all types of cars, the Mustang just happens to be the car I grew up with. I like Z's, and lots of others. I have posted here and gotten a positive vibe from others. I have been a little reluctant to show my sig, since I have a Mustang. I didn't want you guys to think i was trolling. This is a nice site.
And my GT is stock, I'm married and have other responsibilities and that takes up any extra $$$ for mods. Not that I wouldn't like to do some, but can't do it now.

He definetely had some sort of prejudice against the 350Z. I think we all know the meaning of the word ricer and a stock 350Z is not "riced out" with the triple decker tour bus wing or two books worth of decals.

But, even if he did come off all nice and pleasant about killing a 350Z, in my experience reading on this forum and others, I believe he would have gotten bashed or flamed no matter how he put it... Coming onto a forum designated to a certain car and its enthusiast and posting that you beat the pants off of the car will cause friction.

Dont ask us never to post or read on this Forum... Dont say that every mustang owner who comes onto this Forum is solely trying to stir up trouble and cause flame wars. I enjoy reading about kills.. all about the race stories because they are COOL... I dont know what faststang (or whatever his name was) posted in the past. maybe he is a troulbe maker. Maybe he did pork the moderators daughter. Who knows, but I did not appreciate the way he told the story. Instead of banning him, maybe try to be nice and educate him... take his a$$ out and hand it to him instead of shutting his lips. just a though
