Anyways, I love MAG raceing...
that 14.5 is from an AUTO tranny rx7, I always said those are not very fast. In that edition they took automatic sportscars. The auto tranny takes too much torque for the rotary to work well.

ok?

I already posted the 13.7 that motor trend got from the rx7 in 93.

Maybe I should make a few things clear. The reason I posted was this post:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is to the "italiano Americano". You aren't asian? Man, i was wrong. I was so wrong that i was....wrong. What do you mean the rx7 will beat the Z? It's like saying the Z will beat an ls1 maro ss(if both drivers are equally skilled). Sure the Z weighs less than the Super Sport but it will still lose by a power/torque difference. Stock 93+rx7s run 14.3-14.7, ALRIGHT? WORD? The Z runs an average of 14.1. Sure, the Z and the rx7 might run even at some mph, but then the Z will start pulling away. Sure, twin turbo always has it's advantages, such as great top end, but in this case, the naturally asperated Z will PULL AWAY, WORD WORD WORD WORD WODRD
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That post was so wrong its not even funny.. But the fact is I really like the 350z, and who knows I will likely own one some day. Every day I begin to like the Z more and more. I'm debating between the s2k and Z as my 2nd fav jap car (rx8 is not out yet). Anyway it seems from reading through this that the majority of you have agreed that the rx-7 is faster in stock form. I should have just accepted that and moved on.

Anyway, the -Z- is a great car too. Cars like the -350Z- and -s2k- are very impressive cause they are n/a. I realize the advantage my car has is the fact that it is very light and has twin turbos. Neverless, considering that this car was released in late 91, thats impressive enough for me.

Enjoy your cars, the metallic orange is my favorite color for the Z, followed by gunmetal and then the blue.

Laters.

Hey dude, good to hear from you. I mean "You betcha!" as I'm the LS1 troll.

I retired from the dragstrip a while back. I ran a best of 13.00. No joke, 13.00. WTF?

The last run I ever ran was a 13.2 @ 110 with a 2.4 60'

I'm not bragging, its just after breaking my diff I soft launched my car. I decided to do more appearance mods now, my car is fast enough. I will put on a body kit (99 spec full kit) and some wheels and stuff. Then i'm buyin' an Rx-8 and ricing it out like the one in the X-Men2.

Later!

The 350Z and the RX-7 are both great cars. I am very lucky and blessed to have both. I have always been a Z car person having owned a 1976 280Z, 1990 300ZX and now the 350Z. I relly loved the 1993 RX-7 for it's uncompromised performance and handling. Together it is a great package. Have never had a car that can handle like the RX-7 for the price.

I ran my stock Z against a stock RX-7, and in third he pulled about 3/4 of a car length ahead. Very close race, but I lost by ledd than a car length, and bumped the rev limiter. I would say these cars are very close to each other, regardless!

13.00! LOL! A 1mph tailwind and you would've been there!

As for your car, don't go overboard. 3rd gens look sweet off the showroom floor. Afraid I haven't seen X-Men 2 to comment on the RX8.

couple of years ago when i was getting into street racing my friend, and his S2000, challenged his acquaintance who had the 3rd gen RX-7.
Results? The S2000 slaughtered the RX. Maybe its a driver's issue but there were no compomises. The launch the Honda took. I heard the Vtec come in right b4 the turbos kicked in the RX and the Honda just took it easy.
Well judging by reading this forum the S2000 is suppose to be similar to the 350 so I've always just thought the RX didn't have that hard of an acceleration rating but the i've known for sure about its handling capabilities.
Anyways after reading this post I guess I'll have to look into the RX vs Z a little more.

You think getting banned twice would have taught you a lesson.

Here are a few of the recent 350Z kills, I have yet to find one Rx7 losing to a 350Z yet. Your -Z- would be a good match for a 2nd gen RX7 turbo (14's) but sorry, not a 3rd gen.

I'm pretty sure that the topic was stock 93 + rx7s running with stock 350zs. It's like you missed the whole point. Seriously, Do you go to school? Or do you hang out on the internet "owning" online entities.
You just cant see the truth can you? Stock VS stock you lose by 3 to 7/10th. Just a fact.

Nice day.

How about you face these Facts: 350Z OWNS JEW. Listen, let's just stop this on going debate, the 350z and rx7 run semi-even with each other. And i'll give you this one: the rx7 turns corners better than the Z. Are we happy? No, still aren't? Well, i'm sorry, i am not Jesus.
sorry, the rx-7 is faster. several of those were stock. Doesn't matter. Facts are facts, magazines got 13.5-13.7 for a 5 speed model.

350Z, cool car, the rx7 out brakes it, out corners it and is faster.

I think both cars have their pluses in my mind, who ever said that a modded 7 will be better than a modded 350 is a moron though, the 350 has barely been touched.... as for the 7.... go to a 7 board and see how many MODDED 7's have their origional motor... not many.... i think (please do not flame it is only my opinion) that with the same person driving (professional) the 7 would prolly end up ahead but not by much, but i pefer to have a reliable motor in my car that doesnt "pop" at the first sign of pinging or 90+ temps

I have had no engine related problems with my 1993 RX-7 which now has almost 102,000 miles. The rotary engine has gotten a bad rap. It's all about changing the oil, coolant, transmisson and rear end fluids regularly and it will last as long as any engine. Mine still runs strong. The only part in the engine bay I've had to change is a leaking coolant resivour.
