Default Went 14.0..........still confused????

ok -- heres my time slip from yesturday!

60-------------- 2.113
330------------ 5.915
1/8------------- 9.074
mph ----------- 79.33
1000----------- 11.773
1/4-------------- 14.061
mph ------------ 97.60

it was 74 degrees out --- clear skies --- i had 27psi in the rear and 45 in the front

now, imo my 60 fot and 330' are off the hook!!!!! from what i have seen these are great times for a bone stock 350z -- but what the hell is up with my traps????? shouldnt i realy be up near 100+ traps, making 13 second passes???

u guys tell me ----- my car had 3600 miles on it by the way -- 1/4 tank of gas, -- and the spare tires and all the **** was still in the car-- just like it came from the factory

Not unless there is something wrong with the car. Some cars are stronger than others.

Nice to see you went back to the track! Still strange seeing you trap so low.. I am still a bit confused by my 13.9@99.5 run, that was about 1 mph lower then my avg trap but it was my best time.. I kinda came to terms with it that it was due to high humidity and an some great beginning traction 2.0 60'

I still find it strange you are still trapping 3mph lower then average, what were your other runs like?

The Z in Ave. gain 21 to 22 mph from the 1/8 to the 1/4 mile. your Z gain only 18.27 mph. this happen every time you run on the track?

Something is deffinatly wrong, I raced on 3 different occasions for a total of 10 runs. My worst trap ever was 98.5mph and that was because for kicks I was shifting at 6200 (TQ Peak). My second worse was 99.0 and I had a 2.45 60' from wheel hop/spin.

Find another track and see if you get the same trap speeds. There may be something up with the computer at the track.

Watch the other cars and see if they are pulling typical trap speeds. You are running a great time, so I wouldn't sweat it.

Also consider that alot of these cars come form the factory "naturally" stronger than others. I know alot of 3.5 in Altima's and Maximas as well are putting down drastcially different numbers all stock with comparable mileage. Are you manual or auto?

if you hit 101.5 or 102 (like you supposed to do) with 2.0 in the 60 ft. you may see a 13.7 or even a 13.6 in the 1/4 mile.... of course this is in theory.

Pull your spare tire and jack out.......every 100 pounds you can lose is a tenth of a second off your time.......heat the tires up good before you run, with a really healthy burnout before you stage.....you'll get it

How is your air filter? Maybe your losing some power because of Intake.. intake tube connected properly, etc. My case was different because my car was older, automatic..a chevy ..but I was trapping 96/97mph and couldn't figure out why in my Camaro. A week after the track visit I found out my transmission was cooked and I had no clutch face left on the bands anymore. (Auto).. It could just be that you make less power .. but it seems unusual since I see a lot, if not Most of you guys trapping over 100. I guess like yourself and everyone else.. Im just puzzled by the low mph.

Don't compare your trap speed with others on this board. Only compare it to others who run at your track, the same day.

There are too many variables such as weather, track condition, driver ability, track altitude etc. which can have an effect on your mph. My Mach 1 has run a best of 13.2 at 106.5 in December at a track in TX. However, its best during 90+ heat at a different track has been a 13.6 at 104.

If there were another Z trapping 100+ at the same time you were running, then I would worry.

Also mph tends to go up with a little wheel spin. Those with higher 60fts (spinning) will have a little higher mph.

Your doing something right, your times are pretty good.

well im gonna try a diffrent track -- but even if my car lack a little preformance---- a 14.0 at only 97,6 mph is damn good imo! --- thanks guys!
