Default Gauges You Consider Important for N/A

I'm in a new 350z NISMO edition and may stay N/A. In my first N/A 350z, the prior owner had put in "extra" gauges for A/F and EGT. They worked but I wasn't, at the time, modding or tuning the car--so, I never paid attention to them. With my turbo and S/C cars, gauges were a different story, of course.

Now that I'm back in the Z--from an EVO MR--, I'm wondering what gauges are important to you when running/building your N/As Zs--or do you even use any other gauge outside of the stock ones on the 350z?

Hope this isn't too inane a question...don't mean to clutter this thread--but I'm curious what N/A 350z owners like to keep an eye on.

Of course, I searched...and found some N/A guys running A/F, EGT, Temp/Pressure gauges--nearly the same setups I have had in my turbo'ed vehicles.

The only extra gauge I have is an AEM wideband A:F gauge.

Flames

I still have my AEM UEGO and EGT gauges...at least for tuning, I may install them--not that the car will be on a dyno all it's life--I hope.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm running AEM H20 Temp, AEM Oil Temp, and AEM AFR + TXS AFR... An EGT gauge would also be nice for tuning purposes.

what about a trans temp gauge? If you were running hard for a while on a track it might be useful anyone agree?

unless you track every single day, i really don't see a purpose for gauges in NA. If i must pick some, then it would be a scan gauge

This month on DSport they have a priority list for which gauges to go with for NA or Turbo

NA:
1. Tach
2. Oil Pressure
3. Engine Coolant Temp
4. Fuel Pressure
5. A/F Ratio
6. Exhaust Gas Temp
7. Engine Oil Temp
8. Voltage Meter
9. Vacuum Meter
10. Manifold Air Temp

I dont think having 10 gauges is neccessary however take it FWIW

only important gauges the N/A should run are the four that are stock.. the rest have no bearing at all with a N/A car

from your list

NA:
1. Tach already installed stock
2. Oil Pressure already installed stock
3. Engine Coolant Temp already installed stock
4. Fuel Pressure controlled by ECU
5. A/F Ratio why, the ECU will compensate for any difference with this
6. Exhaust Gas Temp i see no need for this N/A, the CEL will go off if the o2 sensors detect an adverse condition
7. Engine Oil Temp nice to know for F/I, but i see no need for this N/A on a street car
8. Voltage Meter already installed stock
9. Vacuum Meter what vacuum? sounds useless to me
10. Manifold Air Temp why?

the total needed gauges are either already on the car. that means the total needed extra for a N/A car totals zero. just clutters up the interior
