Default Tuning a stroker kit

Anyone have any experience tuning a N/A Z with a AEBS or BC 4.15 stroker kit? Would i have to go completely stand alone? or would a cobb tuning port be sufficient. Stock Cams and top end for time being, but i'm unsure of how severe the tuning will have to be for an N/A stroked Z.

Thanks for you help.

The only NA stroker I know of was built by Hal, at Injected Performance. He used a Haltech.

I don't think you could use the Cobb system because it is designed to be used on OEM setups with standard mods. A 4.2L would have different volumetric efficiency and I would think that would cause issues with the Cobb unit.

Start out by looking at either the Osiris Pro Tuner setup or a Haltech. That's what I would do anyway.

You will be fine tuning with any of the ECUs available on the market. A good reflash would even be acceptable.

I know I'm not answering your question, but to fit a stroker kit involves a
complete motor strip, new rods & pistons so any rebuild without cams IMO would be foolish.
The stock heads have very high flow for NA but again while there off why not add springs & do angle job on the valve seats & throat.

yeah, i spoke with Hal from injected performance last night, and now i'm convinced to at least do cams, springs, and now i'm looking into race heads, i dont want to go too crazy on the heads tho, i want to keep the compression around 11:1, and the motor running on 93 octane. I'll need to look into a better intake manifold as well, possibly the cosworth. We'll see.

Thanks all,

as mentioned, anything can be used to tune it - a reflash, Haltech, Osirus, Accessport, all would work...just have to get the right set of hands punching the keys
