Default The Clutch

Sup guys, I'm going to change my clutch and flywheel soon. What brand can be listed as from most likely to least likely. Performance clutch and lightened flywheel also pulley kit. I really want to feel more aggressiveness on the pedal, RPM wild out, more drivetrain power. I've seen videos of Tilton. I'm like DAMN!

My personal drive setup:

- daily driver
- freeway race (most of the time)
- drag strip track
- autocross track
- soon to road race track

I'm leaning towards

- Tilton Clutch + Flywheel 8lbs.(first choice)
- JWT Clutch + Flywheel 14lbs.

Well, first I would say you need to put in a little more research. Your weights are WAY off. The tilton clutch and flywheel assembly is 16-18 pounds, and no longer in production. The JWT is something like 35-40 pounds as an assembly.
The JWT is FAR easier to drive on the street. The tilton is a major PIA for a car that is going to be driven for anything other than a track car. I won't even go into the price discrepancy between the two.

JWT flywheels are 14lbs in weight, compared to the heavy 23lb stock flywheel.

Tilton Weight (clutch & flywheel): 17.9 lbs. Flywheel alone is 8lbs.
Torque capacity: 740 lb-ft

I have done tons of research on this and decided to put in a Fidanza flywheel 13.5 lbs and an ACT NZ1HDSS since it's a daily driver and I'm not fond on repulling the tranny after another 20k. Just remember, aftermarket, you get what you pay for. I've helped my brother do 3 clutch jobs in a S2k because of cheap aftermarket. I've read post on here about problems with JWT so do some research. assault-tech hooked me up with some pretty sweet deals, just gotta haggle a little.

Tilton and daily driver don't belong in the same city, let alone the same sentence. I don't even know if they make it anymore. That is a full out, 100% race clutch. There is absolutely nothing "street" about it

Lots of good options, depends on your power goals, and your budget

ACT, JWT, OS Giken Single all excellent units, all reviewed on this site

So Tilton is out of my list. My goals are to ease up that drivetrain and add more power TT soon. ACT is a good brand. JWT as well. I'm not gonna cheap out on clutch. So throw suggestions. Thanks

I like my OS and the weights I listed above were for the whole assembly not just flywheel.

I am 99.9% sure tilton doesn't make clutches for z33's anymore because of lack of interest.

if you are planning on forced induction, you need to give an honest assesment of how much power you plan on making - that will determine your best overall clutch choice

JWT is always a great choice, i never got the flywheel for my car but that thing gripped like a **** and had lighter pedal feel. i blew out that one rear end bushing that is filled with goo though...
