Yeah, they will do a break in on the engine dyno and the majority of the tuning/tweaking on there as well. Then the engine will go back inside of the car and get dynoed/tuned on Zcar's Dynojet. No more guessing what drivetrain loss is on my car anymore!

BTW, anybody knows what that red paste is on top of the valves?
Yeah, those inj are more than enough and still give you plenty to improve on motor-wise. For that paste, is it where the valve seats? (kinda hard to see the pic onmy phone) if yes, I think the red paste is like a way of checking the seal surface of the valves to the seats, Its just a way to make sure that they are seating correctly, my best guess. I'm no engine builder, but I have seen it before

That's one of the things I had read, plus just talking with some customers who have started playing around with the cars in depth

The finer the spray pattern, the better the overall atomization (more fuel molecules that can combust with air molecules). There are alot of things involved though - different injectors are designed with different fuel pumps in mind (different base pressures and volumes), so spray pattens can vary when one cars injector are used on a different car.

How critical it all gets in a relatively moderate compression NA setup I can't answer...at a certain point you can drive yourself nuts micromanaging this sort of thing.

It's actually all the way at the end of the stem, almost looks like grease. I'll ask him what it is.

Solely looking at the spray pattern, I know that in general the thin laser like one is better for maximizing atomization merely because you can inject faster and more freely in the combustion chamber, but on the other hand having an evenly dispersed cloud of fuel is beneficial for a more complete and consistent combustion. As to which is better for my car or NA and FI for that matter I am left puzzled. I just figured that the effects are minimal on my build where it won't matter much and given that it is an OE part, it gives an extra sense of comfort. But like you said sometimes looking at too much details can be a waste of time. Wonder if anyone has ever done any comparative testing on injectors. Do you know of any?

^I really hope so too. The project is taking much longer then anticipated, but I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.

Other then more frustration, nothing else is new.

The hold up is not related to my car at all. There is an engine on the dyno that they have been working on to resolve some issues and it's taking a lot longer then expected. So more waiting for me and the new ETA is now ........ mid Jan because of the delays and holidays.

Well that sucks. But at least they are not rushing into it. Bad things can happen when being rush and impatient...

I think I know what 1 of your new secret item is... New headers!!! Saw your post in the Stillen Headers thread. Are they long tube or similar design to the Tomeis just bigger diameters?

You don't think that your Tomei headers would be suffice enough?

I'll have a comp most likely of the Tomei with my new ones. We'll see which one will do better and yes the new ones are completely different from the Tomeis.

Most likely will sell them including the cams, if you are interested in the two let me know. I'll probably have them posted after the holidays. No pics of the new ones yet.

Unfortunately, no great updates on the car's engine as of the past four weeks. At least it finally made it to the bench dyno ... finally!!! Once you think it is getting close, more things come up to delay things even further and further. However, in the meantime I did purchase a few extra items for the car.

-Z1auto solid engine mount
-Z1auto urethane transmission mount
-Whiteline front urethane bushings all around
-Whiteline rear urethane bushings all around
-Whiteline rear subframe urethane bushings
-SPL front and rear camber kit
-SPL front and rear endlinks
-Greddy Infotouch Oil Pressure and Temperature adapter
-Greddy Oil Catch Can
-Project Kics R40 lugs
-50mm extended wheel studs
-10/15mm wheel spacers

Still need to pull the trigger on this, but most likely will
-Dual PLX wideband sensor
-PLX Kiwi Wifi
-iPod Touch 3rd Gen with Rev (to communicate with the Kiwi)
-PAC AAI-NIS2 adapter with iPod cable

Awesome stuff, in for results, mine is nearing completion as well.

I definitely understand when you say once it gets close, more things come up too haha. They just keep coming and coming .
